“The first group I sent over made the Avengers uncomfortable by thanking them constantly and asking for autographs. The next group stole things to sell on ebay. The group after that didn’t even get through the front door because Stark’s security system found something in their background that we missed. The fourth group left traumatized after cleaning out Thor’s room, apparently the god had some beheaded poultry dripping blood into a bowl in there. Then after that every group I’ve left hasn’t lasted more than three days because of some problem or another. I’m pretty sure one of those assholes has made it a game to scare my workers away.”
“I don’t think you’re supposed to call the heroes of New York assholes.”
Or, cleaning up after the Avengers involves more than just getting blood stains out of the carpet and most of them can't take the heat. Thankfully the Savior of the Wizarding has spent the last decade cleaning up after Death Eaters, so she's up to the task. Nothing, not pranks, bird corpses, or unidentified slime will keep her from cleaning up.

But he can’t because there’s a mess on his hands that he needs to clean up, and though he wants to stop so, so desperately, though he wants to keep the promise of I’ll go on with my life, he can’t. He can’t leave Dean. He can’t leave Castiel. And he certainly can’t leave Kevin.
So, he decides, it’s time he stopped moping around and started moving.
He’s a hunter. He’s going to hunt the bastard who took his brother. (And maybe, just maybe, he’ll find something else along the way, too.)

Unable to force himself out of love with his brother, and resentful that John thinks him useless, he fakes his age and joins the marines. He's determined to prove that being gay, and being guilty of the crime of not being Dean, doesn't mean he couldn't hack it, like John's always telling him.
After years of excelling in the marines, mastering his psychic powers, and using his visions to protect his family long-distance, his destiny finally catches up with him and Sam is snatched from a botched covert mission by the YED.

Summary
Sam decides Benny deserves a second chance at life. Once he makes that decision, nothing is going to stand in his way, least of all a little trip to Purgatory. Surviving and escaping Purgatory is hard enough, but Sam also has to convince an unsure Benny to come back with him at all. On top of that, Sam has to prepare for the uncertainty of what's waiting for him when he gets back to Earth.

Everybody has a breaking point and Sam had finally reached his. After the last fight with his brother, Sam had left because he wouldn’t allow Dean to lock him up again because his brother thought he knew better than Sam.
Not anymore. Sam had a goal: Detroit. Sam was going to Detroit like he was told he would do and he would do what everyone feared him for; he was on his way to meet the Devil.
And together…together they would make it rain fire while Death walked the streets.

With shaking hands he stabs at the buttons, missing once, twice, and he has to force himself to take several deep breaths to subdue the panic. A very deliberate, controlled motion lets him pop up the contact details of the text with the intention of auto-dialing the number, and he does a double-take because the number associated with the text isn’t Amelia’s.
But he does know whose number it is.
An AU where Sam doesn't fall for Dean's fake text and confronts Benny instead.

I've seen this idea a few times, but this is my version of what could have happened if Sam was Gabe's son.
"Mary Campbell was a strong woman who had left hunting behind to raise a family. The Campbells were known to be some of the most knowledgeable hunters on the planet. He promised to alter her family’s memories so they would accept the child as their own. He should have known that she was THE Campbell. He should have paid more attention to her husband’s last name. Should have realized all the other Campbells were dead. She didn’t mention a deal with a demon. Her soul didn’t show any signs of being claimed for hell. He should have known.
