When she wakes up again, it’s nine a.m. and the app on her phone says the surf’s up at Oceanside. She doesn’t have work. She’s on an extended family emergency leave that really should have ended. But every time she thinks about emailing her boss, she thinks of the sick feeling of dread she used to get going into work half the mornings, and she thinks, I don’t want to think about it, and, aren’t I allowed, for once in my life, to slack off, just a little, and she doesn’t email, or call, or turn on her work phone. Instead, she surfs, and tries not to feel guilty about it.

Summary
Podfic Broken Telephone is a challenge than ran from summer 2017 to winter 2017. The idea was that Person A made a podfic, which turned into a prompt for Person B. Person B's podfic then became a prompt for Person C, and on down the chain.
Three chains were formed from the participant pool to keep the challenge run time to six months or less.

“I tore his shirt after he hit me,” Jamie says, fucking unbearably helpful. He shrugs and tucks his hands into the bottom of his light blue hoodie. “I’m not sure exactly how it went after that.”
“He pushed you against a wall,” Keeley says.
“Er… no?” Jamie says, puzzled. He twists his hands, stretching the fabric over them. His brows draw together like he’s thinking really hard about whether their stupid, embarrassing, ineffectual fight in the middle of an alley involved any walls.
It didn’t. Roy doesn’t know much but he knows that. What the fuck is Keeley doing?
“That’s where you went wrong, then,” Keeley says, and amends, “One of many places you went wrong, mind. Let’s get it right this time.”
