Basically a Pyro centric fic where I make Scott significantly less evil (mostly because I wanted to explore the logistics and world building of ethical vampirism), but don’t worry- he still gets to be scary sometimes as a treat. He’s been allowed to develop and grow a lot more as a person in the last 600 years, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still skeletons in his closet. After all, there must be a reason he decided to change for the better.

Summary
Waking up from a 600-year long cursed sleep—and finding his manor and town completely destroyed—inspires a lot of feelings in Scott. Anger. Vengefulness. Annoyance. Hatred. Insatiable hunger for human flesh and blood.
But more than anything, he is reallyyyyyy tired.
Too tired to bother with an elaborate song and dance with the human intruders in Oakhurst.

Summary
Pyro gets in a spot of trouble, and Scott steps in. Of course, his plan goes perfectly to work, and Pyro escapes freely.
The rest of the evening does not go to plan.
Meanwhile, Avid finally gets a (semi) willing test subject to develop a cure for vampirism!
Surely the moral implications of this situation won't get out of hand...

I don’t know, isn’t that weird?” Avid asked, his voice pitching up plaintively on the end under Legundo’s silent regard.

Summary
Invited to Drift's and her roommate Avid's annual Halloween Party, Oakhurst student (and vamipre) Shelby brings along three of their friends (who are also vampires.) She is determined to ensure this night goes off without a hitch- and while she's never met Avid, she's sure he's just as amazing as Drift! The fact that he has "Pin the Stake on the Vampire" as a party game does not bother her at all.

Summary
Owen isn't an idiot. He knows that if Scott finds out he's basically a newborn in vampire terms, he's going to take the easy meal and kill him. So, he lied-said he had been alive 200 years instead of in a state of unconciousness for 200 years. Hopefully Scott buys it.
Scott knows Owen is full of bullshit. No Sire would let a fledgling that young out of their sight at 200 years old, let alone out here. He thinks he's roughly 300, and is lying to make himself look like less of a threat.
Scott and Owen have a truce-they both stay out of each other's business and don't kill any humans. But for some reason, Owen is so, so hungry. And animal blood isn't cutting it.
Scott, on the other hand, is a little concerned at how bad at vampirism Owen is.

Thirteen people come to Oakhurst. Two never left but one never even made it to the town.
Scott is so confused as for some reason he keeps hearing a fledgling screaming for help. But like he's the only vampire here. Right? Clearly he just wants to grow his coven and nothing more. That and make Avid shut up.I have been reading to many cute little fanatics about the vamps having fun little instincts and Owen being adopted by Scott. Which is great I love that but what if Owen didn't even get to town.

Shelby stood on the top of the lake’s tower, still reeling from the thrill of teleporting to their scarlet beacon, breathing in the fresh air and soaking in the sun. They turned, a massive, toothy grin on their face and determination in their heart. Scott, Pyro, and Owen loomed behind her.
“Okay, guys! No more being grumpy,” Shelby exclaimed. “It’s beach time!”
The two oldest vampires leveled her with an unimpressed look.
“Shelby, this is a lake.”
