She turned her hand over, then, and her fingers laced into his. His heart fluttered–and he somehow managed to hold her gaze. He searched her while she scanned him, vying for sincerity. This time, Firefly’s mask was the first to melt away into a chuckle as warm as a candle.
“Th-that’s… that’s so cute of you! Y-you’re not half bad at th… oh, no, am I blushing?”
“A little,” Caelus looked away as well. “If you’re shy, I won’t look.”
“O-okay…” Firefly huffed, and he heard her smack at her cheeks. “I just need a minute… I didn’t expect you to be so… direct.”
In which Caelus allows Firefly to whisk him away into a night of wild, unknowable pleasures and wanton feasting. What happens in Penacony, stays in Penacony...
