“Sounds good to me,” Victoria smugly replies. She has big plans for the car. Involving fire, maybe. Or her dad’s toolkit. It’ll be cheaper than a rage room.
“And if Santos wins, she takes Javadi on a date.”
Victoria’s head swivels between Santos and Shen, watching a gleeful look come over the R2’s face. “Hey, that’s not what–”
“Yeah, that sounds good,” Santos interjects. She looks Victoria up and down assessingly, like she knows how much it riles her up. “What, are you scared I’ll win?”
victoria and trinity have the joint lowest patient satisfaction scores in the pitt. what better way to solve this than a good old fashioned bet?

Summary
When Trinity gets the opportunity to toss her drink on an entitled man badgering a woman who clearly isn’t interested, she takes it. She doesn't think it'll be anything more than stress relief—an opportunity to let out the aggression she feels at getting stood up in a bar she can’t afford.
Trinity doesn’t think anything of it. Until she meets the woman he was bothering. Baran Al-Hashimi, beautiful, intelligent, and—inexplicably—interested. The only stipulation to their friendship is this: they can't talk about work. They agree, not knowing that they're both doctors, unaware that Baran will be Trinity's boss in just a few short months.

Nearly three years after saving the Canvas, Lune is restless. She's uncovered every mystery, solved every problem, and reached the limit of what the world can give her. Alicia could not save Gustave from her father's ambush, but she managed to keep him from dying. Having learned the truth about their world and the Paintress, he wants nothing more than to catch up to the rest of his expedition and warn them before they can inadvertently wipe out their own people, and the fact that he has just suffered a couple of technically-fatal injuies is not going to stop him.

The next, winter is clawing its way under her coat and down through the gap where her scarf isn't tucked in properly. The sidewalk is a patchwork of yellowing snow, blackened slush, and slick, glassy stretches where the city never quite got enough salt down.
Yolanda shifts automatically closer, like their bodies are homing beacons to each other. Her arm brushes Trinity's as they walk, a cautious nudge every couple of steps. "I told you to wear a thicker coat," she says when she catches the way Trinity immediately shudders against a gust of cold air.
