Early in the war, Hot Rod joins the Decepticons, angry that the Autobots provided precious little assistance to evacuate the citizens of Nyon when Hot Rod burned his own city to ashes to prevent Zeta from using the citizens as fuel for the Functionist war machine.
Confounded by the strict formality within the ranks of the Decepticon army, Hot Rod is fiercely determined to preserve as much Nyonian culture as he can. When an Autobot saves his life during an intense battle, Hot Rod vows to uphold the Nyonian life-bond tradition to save his life in return.
If only the big colorful idiot wasn’t making it so damned difficult!
“He pulled me from the rubble like I needed a big fat hero to save me. Like I can’t take care of myself. If the Autbots couldn’t be bothered to help Nyon before, I sure as hell don’t want their help now,” Hot Rod spat bitterly. “He just saved my life without even asking first.”“Non-consensual life saving. How rude.” Deadlock rolled his optics.

Rodimus meets Magnus’ gaze the next time he looks over, and grins. He ducks back down (so that only the thin spikes of his helm are visible) and shuffles over to the other end of the bar. He pops up near their table “Well hey now fancy meeting you here don’t let me interrupt I was just leaving!”
Having somehow completed an entire paragraph without proper punctuation in conversational format, Rodimus sprints out the door.
