“We don’t know how the serum was administered. We assumed it was injected, yes? But what if all that is required is to introduce it into the bloodstream? Nagel bragged that his version of the serum was ‘optimized’. He called it subtle, and made a point of mentioning that it required no equipment to administer.”
“He just meant no bulky machines like they used on Steve,” James said dismissively. “And even if all that’s true, you’d need more than a few drops for it to work.”
“James, there was an entire pool of it on the floor."

It has been 219 years since the bombs dropped, and even more since Cooper Howard and Nathaniel Allbright parted ways after being discharged from the army.
Now, Nate has made his way to New Vegas at the request of Arthur Maxson and Mr. House who are looking to strike a deal to curb the growing power of the now openly rebelling Western Chapter. As a third party mediator, Nate is trying to enjoy the R&R that the Strip has to offer with his fiance, John Hancock since they are missing out on a Christmas far away from their home in the Commonwealth. Meanwhile, Lucy MacLean and Cooper Howard find themselves relegated to a status of "wait your turn" to see the ever increasingly sought after Mr. House. It was only a matter of time before the four collided.
Things go a little more smoothly than they did when Lucy and Cooper dealt with the Courier before making it to the Strip, but Cooper has some questions for an old friend who is unsure he wants to answer them or face the memories that they'll dredge up. Meanwhile, Lucy can't figure out why she seems to know Nate too.
