"Yes, hello, Vox. So nice to see you too, Vee. I'm great, thanks for asking, babe." Her tone is as energetic as always, even stained with heavy sarcasm. She appears in the corner of his vision; hops to sit on his desk. Even as he keeps his eyes on the screen, he sees how she slips her phone into her pocket, swinging her feet carelessly while staring straight at him. "Quick question."
"Couldn't this have been a call?" He huffs; his eyes still run over the text, and Velvette's presence does not help him focus. He needs to write a response to this, damn it, he can't write a response if he doesn't process the fucking-
Velvette pointedly ignores his question.
"When was the last time you got up from that chair?"

Honestly, no one. But that means that his business partners know how to get him to rest.

Summary
Vox moved from Canada to America for schooling and was just trying to hand in some work when he got caught in the rainstorm, leaving his papers ruined and his day miserable.
Luckily he bumped into a kind stranger who tool him out from the rain once he discovered that Vox lived in a shady apartment building that he knew was going to flood.
Or, alternately; Alastor gets a roommate because he saw this wet cat of a man and felt bad

Summary
It was a single moment. A second of inattention that could have cost them the victim, could have gotten them caught, or worse; he could have gotten them killed. Well, for a moment there, he thought he got himself killed, for sure. He underestimated their prey, had only the instinct to jump in front of Alastor when he saw them reaching for the knife. There was a muffled sound of something ripping and then nothing else, a burning pain on his side numbing his senses - when he caught his bearings again, Alastor had already wrestled the knife back and seemed enthralled in the task of hitting their victim's face repeatedly with the back of the handle.
Violence dressed him better than any tailor.vincent gets hurt during a murder with alastor; alastor takes care of him
