This was literally the worst possible outcome that could’ve come from his and his foster mothers’ argument. Like, he expected maybe a scolding when he got back, or at worst the police called on him for running away, but no. Honest to god aliens.Or,
Humans are a young race, and Tommy, a particularly volatile human, is plucked from his home and forced to survive in a foreign land. It certainly doesn't help with the fact that the whole of galactic society is under the impression humans lack the ability for complex thought.

He knew a lot of people didn’t trust him since it was known to the public that YouTubers had been going missing after working on a project with him and only 2 returned. No one’s heard from Joey in a year. Joey decides to send the letter to Tommy as the kid has a lot of heart, bravery and he’s smart. He did regret it after the letter was sent since Tommy is a child, but Joey stood by his choice.

But even through all of the endless questions she had of how, why, what now, she still made sure that she flew down to Ithaca every day, either choosing to be invisible or lurk in the trees as an owl and watched as Odysseus played with Eurylochus and Polites, watching as the three boys ran around the woods. Though oftentimes, the former two ran while the latter one merely followed. They acted like the children they were, but not how Athena remembered them to be.
Perhaps if there was a way, she would have gone to the underworld and demanded her grandfather's council — after all, Kronos was the Titan of time. Perhaps it was he who could explain how she had come to the situation she was in.
And where she was, was back in time, back in the past.

Tubbo was a big fan of the water. Which made sense, because he lived near the ocean, his house only a little bit away from the beach that he frequented on many days and nights. He loved to sit down by the water, the waves lapping up gently onto his feet as he heard the sirens call to one another.
Pirates weren’t common in this area. Sometimes Tubbo spotted them up way out in the water, the black skull-and-crossbones flag flying high, barely visible through sea spray. It was on those days that he would scoot a little further from the water, head inside a little earlier. He covered his ears with his pillow when the night fell, as the skyline lit up with bright bursts of cannon fire and the sirens sang sailors to their deaths. The music was haunting, making Tubbo’s feet tingle even as he fiercely ignored their calls and forced himself to stay asleep.
Pirates weren’t common, no, but they always meant bad news—because when the pirates came, the merfolk got agitated.

Now that pricked Tommy’s attention. Why would heroes be doing ‘light crime’?
Was this an extremely obvious trap?
No. Tommy had to believe the heroes - Blade and Angel at least - would be smarter than that. Siren was iffy.
