18:44The bell rang once again, the simple chime blending into Mariah Carey’s soprano, going almost unnoticed.
“Eren, stop standing under the mistletoe and get the door, will you?” His Mom’s voice came from the kitchen. Eren felt his face burn with mortification. The boy complied grumpily, walking over to the entrance.
“Mom! I wasn’t standing under the mistle-FUCK!” He froze up in the middle of the open door.
“Mistle-fuck indeed,”came the familiar deep timbre.
Puffs of warm breaths escaped the impassive pink lips as the man Eren knew so well stood before him – this time without the barrier of a led screen. His dom stood at their porch, clad in a long black cashmere coat. Levi carefully tugged on each finger of his leather glove, easing it off his right hand, then doing the same to the left, an expression of subtle amusement making Eren’s insides flutter with admiration and arousal.
“Da- hmph” Eren stopped himself in time, he could feel his cheeks burning with cold, and emotions he couldn’t even start to comprehend. “Uncle Levi?”
“Apparently,” Levi straightened up, fixing the lapels of his pitch black coat. “Will it ruin your Christmas if I come in?”

Levi Ackerman works long hours and tries not to think about how quiet his life has become. He takes care of his younger sister Mikasa and keeps everything tightly under control, because that feels safer.
Then Eren Jaeger moves in next door.
Eren is loud, messy, and impossible to ignore. He talks too much, makes a mess, and keeps showing up in Levi’s life whether Levi wants him there or not. Mikasa quickly warms up to him. Levi does not.
But Eren keeps coming back anyway, bringing food, helping with repairs, and slowly becoming part of their daily routine.
At first, Levi thinks it’s just annoying. Then it becomes familiar. And then it starts to feel like something he might not want to lose.

It was dark and a bit cold which meant he probably wasn’t at home. The ground was hard and it reminded him of the streets up on the Sphere. Had he dreamt everything? The question bounced around his head and in his near delusional state, he grasped onto it for some hint of familiarity. I must’ve pissed someone off again. He thought, it explained how sore he was and the lack of cushion underneath him. And if that was true, it must mean he was being woken up by someone who found him. If he were more aware, he’d realize the concussion was messing up his memories with what was happening, but he wasn’t, so he let himself embrace the memory.
“Regto…?” He mumbled, glancing up at the still blurry figure.

Then he took a good, long look at him. ‘So that’s what this is about.’
