Summary
Jayce Talis travels to the coldest region of the watery planet 4546B to investigate his mother’s mysterious death, officially ruled as “employee negligence” by Alterra despite their vague explanations. There, he unexpectedly finds himself with a consciousness from the supposedly extinct Architect species called Viktor shoved inside his head.
As Jayce searches for the truth behind his mother’s death, he’s also seeking ways to build Viktor a new body, during which the pair begin forging an unlikely connection.

Summary
Jayce returns from the alternate timeline, feral and broken, with a mission to stop Viktor, but that plan derails as his instincts overwhelm his fractured mind.
Without hesitation, Viktor cares for Jayce, who has returned to him after months of being missing, a shadow of who he once was.
An Alpha was there waiting outside. Viktor, something distant stirred. It was Viktor waiting outside of the odd building.
Jayce freezes. His entire body coils. His Omegan instincts flare—predator, enemy, threat. But the girl doesn’t react. Instead, she moves between them, also taking the Alpha’s hand in hers, and lets out a soft, familiar sound: a chuff.
Jayce’s muscles twitch. That sound means safe. He knows it.
It halts him in his tracks, confusion swelling. Viktor was the bad guy—he was why Jayce was here, Jayce was here to stop Viktor as the mage had asked. He couldn’t be…safe.
Viktor steps forward, slow and careful, like approaching a wounded animal.
“Jayce,” he says, voice low and even. A small smile curls his lips. “You’re here.”

“If this Hextech thing doesn't work out,” Jayce drawls, slow and sweet, head still dangling awkwardly from his neck, except now he's facing Viktor. “You know what we should do?”
This is a joke Viktor isn't in on. But now he's intrigued, so he draws up his good leg and rests his elbow on it, letting the quiet hum of music wash over him.
“What,” he asks, “Should we do, Jayce?”
Jayce is holding in a laugh. “Suicide pact.”
(Public appearances are boring. Viktor steals Jayce away, and they reflect.)
