Summary
Even with a new identity, Guy never makes it onto that ship. Instead, he finds himself back in a maze of secrets and fangs. His loyalty isn't for sale this time, though, and it just so happens that its previous owner is not only willing to stake his claim again, but is much closer than he thinks.
(Jasper would like it to be known that he hadn't planned on another vampiric pet project, but he also can't resist, for reasons completely unrelated to the softening of his undead heart)

It’s quiet as Yaz reaches a spot high enough to see the horizon, it’s quiet as the sun dips low enough to start sinking from view, and it’s quiet as she watches the reds and oranges and purples blend into the clouds.
It’s quiet, and it’s beautiful, but it’s not peaceful.
Before the Doctor, she would have found something close to peace in watching the sunset. But now, after everything, peace is tied to the humming of a time machine and the rambling of a time lord and the softness of a shared smile, and nothing on earth can compare.

And, to prove her point, she gently clamps her teeth down on his wrist. That seems to be the thing that snaps him out of his disbelief, and she grins as she then pulls away, waiting patiently as the cogs finish turning his head.
“You really think I deserve that?” he asks, ever so softly.
Robin nods enthusiastically. “I swear on my grave.”
“You don’t have a grave,” Steve points out, to which she just shrugs, because her point still stands.

Summary

He’s always taken that approach to everything so, the first time he comes across a child in the middle of the woods, he tries his best not to be too quick to judge.
“Whatcha doing here, kid?” he asks.
The boy, apparently having been using the rifle he has to support his weight, as if it isn’t a deadly weapon nearly as tall as him, jumps. “Nothing,” he says, “...sir.”

No, the only thing that had counted was his ability to throw himself in the line of fire—the apparently endless line of fury and fists that can’t resist his face—over and over and over again.
He doesn’t mind being hurt or whatever, because, if his mistakes have taught him anything over the years, it’s that love is tolerance, and the most effective way he can prove he loves people is by just tolerating everything about them.

Summary
The Squawk had become their cover, their communication hub, their war room. Robin did the actual broadcasts mostly playing music and reading pre-written community updates approved by the military presence in town, but the real purpose was the coded messages. Steve had helped her set up the whole system, spending hours figuring out how to get all the sound effects she wanted, taping things to walls and attempting to MacGyver random things around the station.
That was just who Steve was, but looking around the room now, Robin wondered more and more if anyone else actually saw that.
