Summary
“You’re so insanely smitten.” Sarah managed to sputter between giggles. “I haven’t seen you this whipped in a while.” She walked towards him and put a hand on his shoulder, which was quickly moving with Sam’s body as he turned to face her fully. He was getting frustrated with all this pushing.
“I absolutely hate you.” He shoved her as he walked to the other side of the kitchen. She continued to laugh as she winced at the force. “Don’t make it weird.”
“I don’t need to, you do it to yourself.” She put her hand on her chest and tried to calm her laughing down. She earned a side eye for her comment. Sam could feel his face getting hot again and decided not to indulge her with a response. “I’m not wrong.” She continued, her voice steadied. “You obviously like him and the yearning is painfully thick.”
“Yeah, well.” Sam started wiping down the stovetop. “It’s not like I can do anything about it.”
“Why not?”
A spin (I think) on the 5 + 1 trope where we have 5 gift exchanges filled with emotions that finally lead to a confession. (I wanted to put all my head cannons into one fic)

These are "one-shots" in a sense of Monachopsis. They are all canon to the story, but I either couldn't find a place for said scene in the story, It'd bring me a rating up (or feel lower), or have a different "vibe" then the rest of the fic.

Will looks at him while he trails off. He'd brought the can back to his lips, his long, lovely cupid's bow shadowed over by his nose. The eye contact feels heady, enough to make Mike stupid, apparently, because the only thing he says is, "Mouths."
It's enough to draw an abrupt laugh from Will, and he nearly chokes on the drink. Once steadied, he hands the can back to Mike. "Mouths?"
"I mean—" The main thought Mike is having about mouths now is that he wishes he could shut his own. "It's my mouth where your mouth was."
"Yes...?"
"So, it's like—" Like a single step from Will's mouth on his, like a type of closeness Mike always wants with Will, like intimacy, like— "Kissing."

“The whole time I was with her, I kept imagining she was…someone different. Someone who was easy to be with. We could just…sit in silence and still be happy. Because we understand each other so well.”
A sick coil forms in Will’s stomach. They’re already like this. Just ten minutes ago they were each doing their own thing a few feet apart, and they were both content. But obviously Mike isn’t talking about him, because Mike doesn’t…like him like that.
In one blink, Mike is still splayed along the bed, and in another, he’s suddenly upright, suddenly very close to Will. Startled, Will reels back, his spine pressed into a knob on Mike’s headboard. Mike’s eyes are wild and crazed as he stares strangely at Will; Will’s are wide and confused as he stares back.
“You know what I mean, right?” Mike says carefully. Now that they’re within arms reach, he wraps a hand gently around Will’s ankle, just above his sock and below the end of his jeans, bare skin on bare skin.
Or: Mike is acting strange, and Will can't figure out why. When he learns it's because Mike is freshly single, Will does his best to be supportive and not at all weird about it. He's doomed.

Summary
For once, it’s not a dark specter from Bucky’s past that’s come back to haunt them. That, as far as he is concerned, is great. A nice change of pace. Something he can bring up next time Sam complains about all the skeletons that are hiding in Bucky’s mansion full of closets.
He’s the one with the gun to his head right now, though, so maybe Sam’s at least got a point with that whole “you can’t even get out of bed in the morning without running into something dangerous” bit that he does.
Or: Somehow, Bucky keeps ending up on the wrong side of the past. Even the pasts that don’t belong to him.
