He was Fëanorian, and yet not a kinslayer; he was Dior’s grandson, yet treated him as a son; he could well prove to be cruel despite his kind veneer. Logic suggested he should run from any Fëanorian as fast as he could. But if he ignored his hatred of the Fëanorians and looked at Elrond as a person, he found he liked what he saw. He had been honest with Dior from the start, even when it would have been more convenient for him to lie; he was patient; and he seemed kind and gentle. More than any elf he had ever met, he reminded Dior of Beren.
Elrond retrieves Dior, Elurín, and Eluréd from the Halls of Mandos in the Fourth Age and helps them adjust to life in Valinor as half-elves.

If you must fix something, you must start at the root of the problem. Except they already tried that and the Root was not very receptive to the idea. So... start before the problem even existed??
Except Team Ro didn't plan to come back to the past. They didn't have any concrete idea of what to fix. Most of them don't even think they have the jurisdiction to make such changes.
But now, in the Warring States Period, they must do something. Because if everything they do has an effect anyway, might as well go down swinging. -

Jaster has to admit that he has been pleasantly surprised by how the latest complicated political maneuver is turning out. He was not happy about letting one of his sons enter an arranged marriage – because they are his sons, for all that their origin is baffling and there are so, so many of them – but he made a very logical, reasonable case for it and was determined to help and. Well. Those are exactly the qualities that the next generation will need.
Kote has been married three months now and it seems to be going well. He is managing. He doesn't even complain privately about his wife the way Jaster thought he might.
The clones are not from this world. Jaster knows this. They know it. They don't remember anything concrete, no people, no places. They just have impressions and feelings and impulses they can't follow up on because they don't know where to start. Kote told him in that conversation that he knew he loved someone dearly in that last life but that he's already come to terms with the fact that he will most likely never find them, so he is the best choice for a political marriage where emotions are not expected to be included.
