The only time Chan can fully let go is when he’s with Changbin. The only time he can let himself stop thinking, cheek pressed to the glass wall of the shower, breath fogging it up in short little bursts.
Something about fucking his best friend has done wonders for his performance anxiety. Completely relaxed. Sex is no longer a chore, a thing he has to prepare for, and think about, and worry over. If he’s doing good enough, if he’s being impressive.
No one ever took care of Chan until he and Changbin became something more than just he and Changbin. Really, Changbin is setting any future partners Chan could possibly have up to fail.

“How do you just get roped into a bet for five hundred dollars?” Jisung snorts, sitting back down on the bed with one leg folded up beneath him. He’s still without a shirt, and Minho is having a hard time focusing while his tits are out like that. Jisung’s chest is unfairly sexy.
He forces himself to look in Jisung’s eyes, scowling when he catches the knowing smirk on his face. “I was being judged. He was testing me. That’s not the point—” he swallows the spit pooling in his mouth. “All you have to do is pretend to be my boyfriend for four months.”
“Sorry?” Jisung laughs incredulously, eyebrows shooting up.
“You heard me,” Minho grumbles. This is so fucking stupid. He realizes how stupid this is. “He bet me I couldn’t hold onto a boyfriend for four months. I told him I’m kind of seeing someone already, no big.”

“I’m straight,” he blurts, without prompting, heartbeat heavy in his fingers, his cheeks, behind his eyes.
Minho twists around so that the chains of his swing are crossed, staring Jisung dead on with his eyebrows raised. “Um. Okay? I’m not trying to sleep with you.”
Shame burns deep in Jisung’s insides, through the cavity of his chest, between his bones. “I–I know,” he stutters. “I’m–” swallowing back bile, something sharp. “Sorry, I don’t know why I said that.”

When Minho gets upset he grows quiet rather than loud, he doesn’t let himself ruminate on things in the way Jisung does. His question in return, then, “Why am I here, Jisung?”

Jeongin heaves out a breath. “But— remind me— why do we have to pretend to be a couple while doing it?”
“We can’t lose sight of our goals, Innie! Keep the family satisfied, keep me out of my parent’s house, show Yuna how wonderful you’re doing post breakup! It’s a three step program!”

When he receives a passive-aggressive email from his professor that recommends he take an extension on his term paper, Hyunjin kicks into overdrive just to prove him wrong. He most definitely needs the extra time but promises himself that instead, he will hand it in early. He does it out of burning spite—to prove to his teacher that he doesn't need any help, and to prove to himself that he's good enough.
But Changbin is always there to remind him that he has always been good enough.

Soobin fell in love in the ocean, feet solid in the murky sand, hands cradling the most precious treasure he’s ever found. Yeonjun, his Yeonjun.
Maybe it would be more apt to say he realized he was in love in the ocean, because the fact of the matter is, he was lost to Yeonjun’s gravitational pull much sooner than that night. Perhaps he always has been, coaxed out to sea by the magnetism of Yeonjun’s moon.
If Yeonjun is the moon, then Soobin is the tide, bent to rise and fall at his will.

Every time Soobin has his eyes on him, Yeonjun feels like he’s made out of a thin, opalescent glass. Completely fucking transparent. The waves crash behind them, in and out, whoops and hollers of rowdy youth, the heat radiating off the fire, suffocating. Soobin’s eyes look right through him.

He watches the flames lick up the logs in the pit, slowly eating away at their casing.
