(Or, Hongjoong is rarely home to do laundry because he’s always in the studio. The few times he’s able to do laundry, he finds himself in the laundry room wearing absolute bottom of the barrel clothing. Which is, of course, when he meets a pretty stranger who looks like a model. Good thing Seonghwa thinks Hongjoong is kind of adorable.)

Hongjoong stubbornly shakes his head. “I don’t know…”
“You do, Joong-ah.” Seonghwa says. “You just don’t want to believe it.”
“It just can’t…”
“Why?” Seonghwa urges.
Hongjoong bites his lip, his heart racing as he stares into Seonghwa’s earnest eyes. “Because I’m scared”. He whispers. “I don’t want things to change. I don’t want to lose you.”

The anger he feels boiling in his stomach isn’t Henry’s fault. Really, it’s not. In fact, Alex is probably going to feel terribly later about the way he goes about this.
And it’s a damn shame, too, because Henry’s a culmination of every one of Alex’s types—dirty blonde and strong jawed with eyes he could drown in, broad shoulders and dainty collarbones covered in a shirt that might be a size or two deliberately too tight.
Alex can’t even blame him for it. It’s working wonders. Even his palm looks soft and inviting, tilted up and waiting to be met with his own. When he blinks, his lower lip juts out the tiniest bit.
Alex spins toward Nora, leaves Henry’s hand in the air beside him.
“Is this the only reason you invited me out tonight?”

Summary
Henry stares at his family. Stares and stares and stares as their words settle in his mind and travel down to his heart, then further down over his ribs and over the soft ridge of his stomach to settle on that mark sitting on his hip.
It doesn't quite make sense, what they’re saying, because his mark has been public knowledge for at least twelve years now, having been leaked by a scumbag journalist, spying on him while he relaxed on a private beach with Pez when he was only twenty.
He’s all but resigned himself to the belief that his soulmate had decided he didn’t want him. And that’s fair, because he’s a bloody prince and not everyone is willing to subject themselves to that level of scrutiny. It’s fine. Acceptable. Henry’s accepted it and moved on.

–“Do ya’ think I’m pretty?” Angel locked his eyes on Husk’s, searching those feline amber depths as if they held every truth. They were so close he could see every downturned lash, every grey hair in inky fur. There was an agonising moment of silence where Husk’s brows furrowed and he set his mouth in a hard line, then with a swig of whiskey straight from the bottle, he sighed.
“No,” he said simply, and Angel’s heart dropped to his stomach. He hung his head, lower hands twiddling in his lap as his eyes burned. He wouldn’t cry. He couldn’t. Of course Husk wouldn’t think he was pretty – he wasn’t anything like the men who called him that. The sting of rejection rendered him breathless like a well-placed punch to the gut.
