Hermann cleared his throat and adjusted his grip on his cane, which, in an effort to stop people (read: Newton) tripping over it, was tucked neatly under the table. With the smallest of nudges, one end found itself in the path of one unlucky jaeger pilot. His tray went flying, and he hit the ground hard, and though Hermann was sure nothing had been broken by the fall, he still fought back a grimace in sympathy at the loud thud that echoed through the mess hall.

Cyno's pact with the divine spirit has granted him an ability he sees as neither a curse nor a blessing: if he dies, he doesn't stay dead. It's not as though he hides it as an active secret but how does one even tell others about this? So, it just doesn't happen. Until he dies in front of them.

_________________It's been two years since Leo's disappearance. The city has erected a monument in Bryant Park to honor and mourn New York's bravest young hero.
While Leo's statue sits in the park, Raph sits in therapy. Everyone believes Raph is too traumatized, too wounded to process the loss of his brother.
But there's something Raph can't explain, something only he can feel, something everybody wants him to ignore. It whispers softly somewhere in the deepest corners of his mind: he's still here.
Raph listens.
