The cameras had only shown it for a split second, their aerial footage sweeping across the scene of battle. The news feed prattles on, trying to report on the indistinct bodies that shoot across the screen like an incoherent montage of the war waging just a few feet away.
But Mitsuki spots him the second he takes that blow, the shot that lingered on him right after he went down before cutting away. There is no sound of the way his body had been pierced, she wouldn’t have heard it even if there was.
Or, Mitsuki learning to put together the pieces of her son's life, from the beginning all the way to the very end.

Till had long since tuned out Ivan’s snoring from next to him. “Normally I wouldn’t feel comfortable, but since it’ll be at Hyuna’s house, I doubt anything will get too ‘lit’,” Mizi said with air quotes. God, even her cringiness was cute. “Plus, Sua agreed to come with me!”
Sua seemed to grimace a little at the reminder. No doubt she’d been pulled in by Mizi’s sunshine attitude and said yes before realizing just what exactly she was agreeing to. Till smirked a bit. He may have a crush on Mizi, but there was no way he was going to attend a gross high school party–
A gasp. “Oh my gosh, you and Ivan have to come too!”
“We’ll be there,” Till had said, horrified. “Text me the details?”
