Dammon shudders through the grass, underbelly slick with the blood of the girl he's been slip-sliding in. Will tastes it on his own tongue when his daemon's flutters out, flicks against the girl's still-oozing arm.
She tastes like bird, hisses Dammon. Bird and creepy-crawly-clicky things. Birds and static.
"Birds and death," Will mutters.

Summary
Startled, Wilbur opened his eyes to find two creatures crouched before him.
They were eerie things, ever-changing; he tried to move, but found himself frozen, stuck like stone before their otherworldly gaze. Their eyes, voidlike in appearance, void of anything and yet holding universes, pulled him towards them, mind stretching far, far away.
“Go back to sleep, little being,” the bird-things crooned, necks craning down to his own, stars and galaxies and life bursting into existence within the dark enclosures of their eyes, and all Wilbur knew was darkness.

"...Do you have a name?" Wilbur asked.
It paused, face screwing up in concentration at his words.
"...Big... Big Tahm-ee," it settled on. Then it frowned, shaking its head no. "Big.. Tom-e! Tommy!"
Wilbur's eyebrows shot up in disbelief. He'd been expecting something unpronounceable, a swirl of clicks and caws. No, this red fluffy child was just Tommy.
"Hi Tommy," Wilbur whispered, a small smile teasing at the edge of his lips. "I'm Wilbur."

What the title says.
After the plant witch Willow Park ends up accidentally finding out she can create beautiful mixed breeds of flower, she attempts to create a unique bloom for her friends (and a specific blonde someone she may or may not have a crush on).
However, she ends up making... something else, by mistake.Events take place somewhere weird? Nowhere in canon, but if you want to picture the fic in canon, it would be some time after Labyrinth Runners, but before Clouds on the Horizon or anything later than that.
This is my first fic, so the characters will almost certainly be OOC. Further alerts in the notes.

Will feels the blood leave his face, feels his entire world shifting in an instant. “Mike–”
“And then you stand there and tell everyone it’s this crush that amounts to the same as some girl who didn’t like Robin back?” Mike’s voice cracks. “I– how am I that to you?”

Will scrubbed a hand across his forehead. “Right. Um. He’s great, I mean, incredible, actually. He understands stuff, like nobody else does. He’s the only person who’s ever made me feel truly okay in my skin and I-” he cut himself off.
Mike’s heart almost stopped beating. Maybe he wasn’t totally crazy.
“Anyways. Focusing on him, when it’s hopeless- it’ll just make me feel like shit. I mean, after everything, it’s just me, y’know?” Will said softly. “Just me.”
“Yeah, but it doesn’t have to be.” Mike said. “Why should you be alone? Just because you’re…" he took a deep, shaky breath. “...gay?” The word took effort to say, and it felt like he’d run a marathon once it’d left his mouth, his chest burning.
Will stared and stared. “I…” his gaze flickered to the ground. “Because. He’s the only person I’ve ever…” he squeezed his eyes shut. “Been in love with.”
Mike blinked. Will was in love? With this boy who could maybe, possibly, probably be Mike?
