He felt Rocky’s hand stutter against his back.
“What Grace talking about, question?” Rocky asked, something wary slipping into his tone.
Ryland hesitated, teeth pressing into his lower lip. He didn’t know if he should say it, didn’t know if it was right, introducing something like this to a species that might not even have a concept for it.
But Rocky felt safe. Like he could say anything, and Rocky would stay.
