MONDAY“I’m just saying, if ghosts were real, they wouldn’t be hanging out in Hawkins!” Robin argued, feet swinging just above the ground from her perch on the counter they were supposed to keep clean to prep toppings for the ice cream, but three days after training ended, Steve had elected to stop caring about things like that.
He shook his head as he muscled out a scoop from a fresh (freezer-burnt) tub of sorbet. “You are so incredibly wrong it’s not even funny.”
Robin sighed in a way that Steve knew meant she was rolling her eyes, feet tapping an even staccato rhythm against the cabinets as she gently kicked back-and-forth. “No, I am absolutely right. If what you said about ghosts only being formed by super-traumatic deaths is true, then there’s literally no possible way that ghosts hang out in Hawkins.”
Steve couldn’t help but snort. The irony was not lost on him, for once.

Summary
No one liked to acknowledge the fact that Barbara Holland had disappeared. They went to class, went to work, went to the movies – all without one single whisper of the girl who sat beside them in chemistry the previous year. Her name was scarcely muttered in the hallways, and always dropped into the cacophony between classes like it was a sharp, piercing needle. Better not leave it to poke you in the side, right?
Then it would lay there, forgotten beneath the bustle of high school life.
Robin could hardly stand it. Or, at least, she couldn’t stand it until she tripped right over the rug that Steve Harrington, of all people, pulled from under her feet.
But that’s a story for another time.

This was Bruce grappling up to her thirtieth story Metropolis apartment, stowing the Batsuit in the bathroom, and watching StarTrek with her. This was her driving to the manor when she couldn't sleep, only to find she could do it there.
This was having a friend.
Or: Despite the long shadow Batman casts and the demands of being one of the youngest Pulitzer winners ever, Bruce and Lois manage to steady each other, in the way that only friends can. Also, there's a case they need to solve.

Summary
It was really just his luck that a hulking monster lumbered out of the woods and directly onto his driveway. Just his luck that he threw enough parties when his parents were gone that the neighbors had long tuned out any noise that came from his yard. Just a nice cherry on top of the fucking cake that, even if anyone did hear him screaming when claws tangled in his jacket and pulled, Steve honestly wasn’t sure they’d have cared enough to bother anyway.
