Summary
Hua Cheng doesn’t appear all at once a year after his dissipation on the Heaven-Crossing Bridge; rather, he corporealizes at Xie Lian’s side on Mount Taicang over the course of four seasons. As he regains his ability to be seen, heard, and touched, he and Xie Lian navigate loss, longing, and love.

Summary
The light still doesn't make sense against his eyes, but he thinks he remembers something like color. There is a lot of color around him, and he is able to discern white and black and a great deal of something else. It's a breathtaking splash of vivacity on a new canvas, where there had been no canvas at all for so many eternities. It is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.
Red, Xie Lian finally names it.
-
In a disorienting turn of luck, Xie Lian is rescued from State Preceptor Fangxin's coffin. He recovers his other senses in good time, but his sight is taking longer to return—decades with no exposure to light have weakened his capacity for it.
His benefactor and worshiper, a wealthy and eccentric ghost named Hua Cheng, hasn't left his side for months.

Summary
Xie Lian will not tolerate anyone insulting his husband. Anyone who does so must be punished.
Even if that person is his husband himself.
(Or: Xie Lian ties Hua Cheng to a chair and forces him to recite affirmations in the mirror.)

Summary
The last thing he remembered was Bokuto driving late at night down a questionably narrow road that was barely fenced off from a rather dangerous cliff that if someone fell off of they would likely die. Or get seriously injured. Or something.
He knew full well it wasn’t Bokuto’s fault. He was surprisingly a really good and very safe driver. But there was another driver on the road, one who clearly should not have been driving.
Next thing they knew, they were crashed into, shoved off the road, and rolling down a cliff.
Keiji was probably knocked unconscious after that.

Summary
“I don’t know what I’m going to do without you, Akaashi,” chokes Bokuto.
The timer screams loud in Keiji's ears.
“Yeah, well-” says Keiji. His words start off broken so he clears his throat, tries again. His eyes flit against his will. He can’t look, he can’t see. “Yeah well I’ve been half in love with you for the last year so I think you’ll be able to manage better than I will.”
Bokuto goes still under his hands. Keiji looks, only briefly, and Bokuto is… he looks stunned. His cheeks are even redder now and his eyes are comically wide. He looks like a deer in headlights. Keiji’s stomach churns, he closes his eyes and ducks his head a little. “You can do this, Bokuto-san. We all believe in you.”
Keiji steps back and gives himself one last look at him. His stupid hair all wild and winded, his blazer wrinkled and wet in spots from tears and snot, and his face, mouth parted in surprise, red on the apple of his cheeks. He is beautiful. There isn’t a time in Keiji’s life where he both knew Bokuto and didn’t think that.
And then the moment is up. “I believe in you,” says Keiji, before walking away.
And then?
And then he and Bokuto don’t speak to each other for almost three years.
