Summary
Kal can see his reflection in the black monitor, his bangs falling in his face, black waves cascading down to his shoulders. He looks confident. His lips brush the top of the monitor, wrapping a hand around its back, his breath fogging it as he kisses Sol gently. “You like this,” he says, like it’s fact.
Kal-El and Sol are trapped in deep space, ship damaged beyond repair. They make their last hours count.

Kal takes out the sword and grips it tightly between his thumb and forefinger then starts swinging. “Handy for when I have to fight a bug,” he says.
He thinks he’s being funny but Lois corrects him, says it’s just a dinky little decoration and not actually for fighting, and he puffs a sigh out from his cheeks and tells her he knows. He’s from space, not born yesterday.
