The ship's horn sounded again, loud, washing through the air like a tangible thing he could grab if he tried hard enough, and another shiver wracked his body, involuntary and painful. The relief he felt was overwhelmed by the reminder he still had to sit in this squalid boat until his rescue.
He heard a contemplative noise from behind him that he had learned a while ago meant Sebastian was assessing his health.
"Here, young master," Sebastian said quietly, wrapping the wool coat on his shoulders tighter, as if that could help, as if he wasn't still just as wet as before. When Sebastian pulled his hand away, Ciel was dismayed to find himself automatically leaning with it, chasing the contact.
It had been a rough night. He hadn't slept yet. He doubted it meant anything.

Sebastian does not need to bathe like humans do.
He can clean his entire form in one full swoop with only a singular simple thought, his form changing and ridding himself of any and all filth within the expanse of a second without bothering to fill the space of a porcelain tub with warm water and scrub himself down until he feels refreshed enough. The only time he had ever gotten into the tub to bathe was when Agni had seen him covered in blood after intruders had broken into the manor and he had offered to wash his hair for him, the idea of getting to know more about the unknown and unsolved puzzle that is Agni far too tempting to decline.
Despite the fact that he finds bathing an unnecessary chore for himself; he has unfortunately needed to start doing so to keep up appearances ever since he made Agni his. Most of the time he can simply tell the human that he had bathed before heading over to the guest room that he stays at whenever he and his prince come to visit the manor but sometimes he will have to actually get in the tub to wash up whenever the man stays in his room, which is quickly becoming a near daily thing. He has been dragged into it today as well.

Summary
Sebastian's not one to really talk about himself and on the rare occasions he does, he wouldn't (nor would anyone else) describe himself as "caring". Afterall the whole reason he's here is to eventually consume his young master's soul, that's the only reason you might mistake his protectiveness for genuine care. Everything he does is simply to properly portray "the butler aesthetic". Eventually the young master will complete his revenge, sending Sebastian off to his next contractor. Yes, the occasional fights against grim reapers, bizarre dols, and the avatar of a god, do make serving the Phantomhive manor more memorable and even intresting...but that's as far as it goes. Interesting, that's all it is, there's no such thing as attachment for a demon who experienced centuries pass in the blink of an eye. After all he's known grim reapers and the Undertaker's boredom of immortality... although he himself must admit, meeting a human blessed by a god, isn't something you see every century. It is rather...intriguing.

The demon is silent for a moment, his eyes contemplating something as he looks at Ciel. He looks almost wrong-footed, as if he’s unsure how to proceed.
Now that Ciel thinks about it, he has been going about this almost too confidently. He’s been taking all of this in stride, which is a far cry from how he acted last time.
But that’s only because he’s been through all of this before. This is only a dream.
No, perhaps Ciel should be honest with himself. If this were all really a dream, it would’ve ended by now. While he’s had numerous nightmares about this night in particular, they never last this long.
But the alternative is ridiculous. Could he really be going through all of this again? The very idea is just… unheard of.
Regardless, if he really is going through all of this again, then he needs to keep going.
