Summary
CT-7425 hadn’t yet picked a name, but they wished they had. Having all of their vod’e have to refer to them by number felt wrong, now that names flew fast and loud across the hangar. They’d thought over dozens of names in their bunk at night, but none of them every felt right.

Summary
He looked into the mirror he’d managed to scrounge as a cadet and carried with him ever since, just large enough to see his whole head in the expanse. He could barely see the two Paths he’d been shaping into his hair now, all of it overgrown and curling into the rest of the hair on his head. The red dye he worked into the short hair when he’d last cut it had faded enough that the design was almost unrecognizable against his dark roots.
He picked up the first guard and set to shaving the whole mess down to his preferred length – long enough to be visible, but short enough to prevent matting under his helmet. The Paths vanished more and more under each swipe of his hand and he breathed in, out.
He remembered, he repeated to himself. This is only the in-between, the allowing of the remembrance to shift over time.

Sighing, Tim rubs his face. Holidays in Gotham are terrible. Especially Halloween. This is only the first Saturday in October, so they should’ve had at least a few more weeks of relative peace. “I know we can never have a normal Halloween, not in this city, but does the crazy really have to start earlier and earlier every year?”
“Yep,” a deep voice says from right behind him. “Because Gotham’s an actual goddamn hellmouth.”
Tim’s pretty sure he manages not to jump. A loud snort followed by a low chuckle raises a flicker of doubt about that conclusion. Whatever. It’s like three in the morning, the Joker’s loose in Gotham, and there is an actual freaking vampire cleaning the bric-a-brac in the parlor right now—he’s allowed to be a little jumpy.
Stupid Jason.

Part four is a collection of oneshot what-if scenarios, each chapter spinning off from the main series at various points. The chapters can be read in any order, but most will not make sense without having read at least part one of the main series.
Parts five onward are all standalone what-if scenarios and can be read separately from the rest of the series.
