Such a lovely fic! The author did such a great job taking an often over-used trope and really made it their own. Their pacing and characterization was fantastic as well and man! Just great!

Usually, when faced with one of Harry's non sequiturs, Kim would intentionally force his face to remain neutral, carefully hiding either confusion or a grin.
This time however, he opened his mouth to speak, then stopped himself before a single word left his lips. His eyebrows creased in a look of intense concentration, while his gaze went right through Harry, then snapped back into focus. Before the lieutenant was able to reign in his expression again, something flickered over his face.
HALF-LIGHT - Fear.

Such a wonderful and introspective fic! The author did a great job capturing Kim's manners, fears and desires Very well. I'm just blown away. Reread this fic recently and it was just as good and heart wretching as I remembered!
