Summary
They've done this before, after the Calamity was defeated. Zelda was just starting to bloom. Link doesn't want to start over. Starting over means consequences, and she's tired of consequences. It feels like coaxing a little bird out of its cage with the door left open. Just come out, she thinks, and hopes the bird will fly out before long.
Until then, Link doesn't mind cooking them both breakfast. She'd do that no matter what.

So you can say 'sure', or if you don't feel like it, you can say 'no' or 'not right now'. And if you say 'sure', I'll keep holding it, and if you say 'no', I'll let go."
Falst stared down at their intertwined fingers. "Um. Sure."
Or: on a sleepless night in the soulshapers' monastery, Dainix has an idea to help him and Falst communicate more. Falst decides to play along and see where it leads.

Dainix's grip tightened. Falst expected the guy to put him down any second--they were on solid ground, he didn't have to hold Falst anymore--but he held on, for some reason. Falst was tucked up against Dainix's chest, Dainix's heartbeat echoing faintly in his ear.
Or: after rescuing Falst from a fiery doom, Dainix is extremely reluctant to put him down.

Falst glanced to the side again, his gaze sweeping over the group. Having them all in one place made it easy. Kendal and Alinua sat side by side, shoulder to shoulder. Both of them had cats in their laps, and were staring down at the furry beasts with wide eyes and soft expressions. Tess herself was busy dragging toys around, sending kittens scurrying after feathers and small bits of rope. Erin was at Falst’s table. He’d pet the cats for a little bit, and then scampered back to relative safety, complaining loudly about the fur, and begging for a coffee. And Dainix-
A laugh, startled, amused, and warm. Falst’s gaze rested on Dainix again. Cat number four had managed to clamber over the others and press it’s paws into the wyrm silk of Dainix’s poncho. It stretched and butted its face against Dainix’s, and Dainix laughed again. It was a warm and breathy sound, like a fire fanned stronger. It sounded like he was out of practice.
Falst’s tail gave another twitch against the booth he sat in.
Alternatively: Dainix gets seasick and Falst does his best to help. It's tactical. Also, there's a cat cafe. That's less tactical.
