Eddie had frozen with his fingers halfway to his mouth. Smoke curled from his cigarette between them. He raised his eyebrows, then frowned, then bit his lip.
“I can-” Eddie said slowly, his face still rolling through several emotions without landing on one- “touch you?”

Tabitha was the one with the growing soft spot, and he suspects Tian Chen likes him more than she lets on in English. For the most part, what he and Jade have is the shared failure that was the radio tower, coupled with abject loneliness and the numbing boredom that comes with being trapped within walls that are undeniably there, and yet also worryingly non-existent.
Boyd once referred to something as the edge of town, and Jade made maybe three new enemies in record time by theorising that the looping concept of the roads disqualified them from having an edge at all.
OR, Jim is Schrodinger's widow until Tabitha comes back and opens the box.
