"Virgil couldn’t believe what was happening in front of his eyes.
Rather, he could believe that it was happening, but he most definitely preferred for literally anything else to be happening instead. Maybe not anything, or everything—He was too sleep deprived for this.
His bathroom sink was broken. The pipes had always made weird noises when he tried to turn on the faucet, and the hot water tap had never really worked, but Virgil didn’t use it for much more than washing his face in the mornings, so he thought he could live with a half functioning sink with no problems.
A flooded bathroom was more than a problem."

- Is there something you’d like to tell me, Patton? – Deceit addressed him without taking his eyes away from the fire, skillfully moving the pan around before returning to the cutting board.
- No? I, don’t think so?
Janus hummed thoughtfully, focus entirely placed on what he was doing with his hands.
- You’re not lying, at least – he mumbled under his breath, transferring whatever was on the cutting board onto the pan. – Say, do you know why frogs croak?"
