Summary
“We might as well move on. He’s never going to ask.”
Teia reaches over Marisol’s shoulder to sweep her thumb along Viago’s cheek.
Considering. Calculating.
“Perhaps he won’t.” Something catches in her concession, something sly and impish. Something that curls in Marisol’s core like honey spooned into hot tea. “But I will.”
When Viago can't (won't), Teia puts Mari on her knees.

Summary
She drags a sheet about herself. Gathers her hair over one shoulder and wraps it around her knuckles. "It's just a fact. Don't tell me death suddenly bothers you?"
"Your death."
"Hm?"
"Not a nameless, theoretical concept." His walking stick is propped against the armoire; he grips the snake-wrapped handle like he can choke an escape from its silverite throat. "Your death. That is what we're... considering."
Or: Addie has made peace with her Calling and Viago has not done that.

Summary
“The only thing that could pardon you in this moment would be if we walked out, right now, with no intent to come back.”
“The only thing?” Something devious glints in Viago’s eye, and something other than hunger pools at her core. Her awareness catches on the weight of his palm against her leg— even before his fingers tighten, before they slide up the length of her thigh.
“Perhaps—“ her grip tightens imperceptibly on her wine glass; her breath stills in her lungs “—perhaps not the only thing.”
Viago and Addie attend a dinner party.

“And that should mean I want you less? When have you ever known me to—“ Teia grinds against her, a wicked interruption that punches Mari’s breath out all at once. “Rude.”
“I could stop, if you—“
“No.”
Teia and Marisol enjoy some time alone.

Summary
“So tell me, Rook.” He sets his glass down, the crystal tapping gently against the wood with a soft clink. “Is this the life you chose… or the one you were left with?”
A memory rises, unbidden: the two of them, younger then, hands still unbloodied, lying in a field gone gold in the late summer light. He turns to her and agrees she'd be his queen. Not a dare, not a game, but promise in those ocean blue eyes of his.
---
Rook didn’t marry for love—she married for power, for position, for the illusion of control. But Viago has always seen past illusions. They were raised side by side, sharpened into weapons by the same cruel hands. He knows her ambition by heart, just as she knows his own hunger for power.Loyalty is costly. Desire is a dangerous game. And in the Antivan Crows, it’s poison either way.
For the Viago Week prompt: Talon or King.

Summary
It's in a Crow's nature to lie, to tell half-truths that get them closer to their marks, to their goals. And now, with so many people out there who would be happy to kill her - Antaam, Venatori, the bloody elven gods themselves - to take away this one simple layer of defense is unacceptable. "If you knew it was magic," he asks, "why didn't you go back to the Lighthouse? You've got mages there. I can't do anything about magic here."
Lena covers her mouth with her hand again for a moment, and Viago sees another struggle play out in her eyes. But he waits, until she lowers both her hand and her gaze. "You're the only one I trust with all this truth," she mutters.
Well, fuck.
Venatori blood magic forces Rook to tell nothing but the truth. But there are truths between her and Viago that have been buried for too long.

Summary
In theory, Vero Solano is living every hockey-obsessed kid’s dream. After surviving a string of hazing incidents, they’ve clawed their way to the Show – the Thedas Hockey League. When Vero is traded mid-season to the Antiva City Crows, they’re preceded by their reputation as a stand-offish loner who prefers anonymous hookups off the ice to team bonding. To everyone’s surprise – including and especially their own – they soon find themself connecting with Viago de Riva, the Crows’ enigmatic goaltender whose on-ice brilliance has earned him respect despite his own eccentricities.
A 14-year THL veteran and the cornerstone of the franchise, Viago has spent his entire career barely tolerating his teammates. Still, there’s something about Vero’s careful detachment that’s entirely too familiar. Despite his misgivings, he finds himself offering the Crows' newest defense player post-practice advice that quickly evolves into something that looks dangerously like friendship – and maybe more.
(Actual fic length is approximately 54,500 words. The rest is footnotes/glossary.)

Summary
“Sorry,” Vic said quickly. “I thought -” She stopped. “It was just... a very clean kill.”
…Surely he understood that, right? From the number of people she now had an intimate awareness of, even from her brief ten-month stint as the disgraced sellsword of House de Riva, Vic knew that the majority of Crows shared this sentiment, at least. Killing people felt good. Sometimes, victory just felt good, and it made you want to make other people feel good, or perhaps selfishly push yourself from good into phenomenal-
--
After a misread heated moment, and a disastrous first kiss that never should've happened, Vic more than gets the message: Lucanis Dellamorte isn't interested.Which is fine. Plenty of people are.
[multichap fic, that's basically me writing a more consistent romance narrative for Lucanis and this particular Rook.]

Summary
For a moment, Lucanis thought she was still asleep—caught in the memories of other bodies in her bed—but the twist of her spine to draw herself closer to him could not be anything but intentional.
“Lucanis,” she sighed, guiding his hand up to the warm space just beneath her breasts. “It’s so early.”
Her head tipped back, rolling to flash him bright, brilliant eyes as her lips parted in a warm sigh. His brows knit as Teia’s liquid spine rolled against him, the brush of her heel against his calf, the nudge of her—of her against his hips.
Something was wrong
(AKA: Lucanis and Teia pretend to fuck to distract guards, and then actually fuck. Viago gives them cover, and watches.)
