She didn't whimper up at Vox, nor did she swallow as she panted. She didn't flick her gaze down to his bulge constantly, as if staring at it would telepathically command his claws to move from her hair and finally unbuckle his belt. It was his imagination, she didn't do any of that at all.

Vox could tell her that she’s being stupid. Vette has a dozen pillows, a weighted blanket and a white noise machine in her own room in the tower; she’d have a better shot there than here.
But she’s… choosing–to stay with him. Not for business’ sake and long after sex. Vox still doesn’t know what to do with that.
He clears his throat.
“I can help you fall asleep.”
Or; Velvette has a big day tomorrow but can't put down her phone for long enough to fall asleep. Vox suggests hypnosis as a solution, which requires some mild talking-into. Is it 'being manipulative' when she knows what he's doing and it's for a good cause?
Or; trust between villains.

“No! That’s the point! I’m not feeling okay, because my head is an ancient piece of junk, so if I upgrade, I’ll feel better! I’ll be better!” Vox explained feverishly, holding his forehead. “Don’t you see? I’ve gotta get ahead! My face could be the face of all technology in Hell!”
