Summary
The journey to Erid is rough to say the least, especially when Grace runs out of all the nutrients he needs in the last five months of their trip. When he gets there, recovery is slow, and Rocky has to chase off insatiably curious Eridians who want to pick what's left of him apart for science. But with a little help from Adrain, the two get their well deserved rest.

Please ignore the nausea, the fever, the tremor, the concerning neurological symptoms, and the fact that he may or may not be accidentally poisoning himself at work.The resulting medical emergency, however, does expose one additional problem: Dennis and Robby are apparently the last people in the hospital to realise they are not subtle.

Summary
The humans threw Grace away. Grace, who worked so hard to save them, who came back for Rocky when he realized the taomoeba would eat through Rocky's ship. Grace, who gave up his chance to go home to save Erid too.
And then Rocky finds out exactly how Grace ended up in space.
They're not giving him back now. Grace will always have a place on Erid where he's beloved and cherished the way he should be, even if it takes Grace a while to believe he's worth that. Rocky may or may not have plans to fix up the Hail Mary for the trip back anyways- there were a few things they wanted to say directly to Stratt's face.

I lived with this hunger long before the Hail Mary. This is nothing new. I’m fine.
Right up until Rocky asks another question.
“When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”
Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”
Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.
“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”
I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.
“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”
I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.
“Grace. When last time, question.”
I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.
“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”
I can taste grass.

Alternate take on the post-fishing scene/CH20, where Rocky saves Grace and Grace returns the gesture by saving Rocky and exposing himself to superheated ammonia.
Blazing hot ammonia flooded the airlock and dormitory. I slammed the airlock door behind me and spun the lock. Hissing erupted on the other side, loud and violent, but I couldn’t see anything anymore. Can’t even breathe.
The ammonia had hit me straight on. No cover. No shielding. Certainly no glasses on my face to protect my eyes even a little. Just superheated ammonia directly to the face like the universe personally decided I’d gone too long since I’d last suffered five minutes ago.
I’m screaming, I thought. Or maybe gurgling. Hard to tell when my throat felt like it’s being flayed open from the inside. I hit the floor hard, writhing as fire tore through my lungs and airways. Every breath felt like inhaling knives.

They were each labeled with numbers so she could watch them in order. She chuckled. Of course he had thought of that. A note also came with the pods. It read; “Tell Carl I say hi. And that he was right. You were right. P.S. You won’t believe it until you watch the videos I sent you, but I met a sentient life form. A real alien. Not just Astrophage, like a talking, living, breathing alien. Oh, and don’t be confused when you see a new human in the videos. That’s Simon. It will all be explained though, don’t worry.
