"I have Ms. Kelly today," Max says, almost bitterly. "You'll be okay at lunch without me?" she says it sarcastically, like a joke, but there's an undercurrent of something else in her voice; for a moment, she almost sounds scared.
Will releases her hand, even as they walk out of the gym doors together. "Works out for me," he tells her, "I have that project for art I have to finish up anyways." He pauses, hesitates. "Will you be okay without me?"
Max takes a breath, and then gives him a shaky smile, one that doesn't quite reach her eyes. "I'll have your tape," she says, wiggling the wires of her headphones. "See you after school."

Summary
"What are you doing here?" Mike's face dropped as his eyes slid from El, past Max, and over to Will, "And what are you doing with them?"
"Shopping," El said with a blank expression on her face as Max smirked and added, "This is their new look, what do you think?"
"You know she's not allowed to be here. And Will, how could you just run off like that, we were worried!" Mike glared straight at Max despite the fact part of what he said was directed at Will.
"What are they, your little pets? El can't leave the cabin, and god forbid Will strays more than three feet from your shadow, despite the fact you were completely ignoring him!" Max snapped right back.
Or... A rewrite of Stranger Things starting at season 3 placing Will in El and Max's storyline, allowing Will to receive the support he needs to grow more confident in himself. Meanwhile, Mike considers what it might mean for him that he's more upset that his best friend ditched him to hang out with someone else, than he is about his girlfriend breaking up with him.

“It doesn’t matter if it takes a hundred more crawls,” Mike says, planting his hands against the table. “A thousand! We don’t stop until we’re goddamn sure that wrinkled, rotting, noseless bastard is dead and gone and never coming back.”
Will’s smiling, now, looking reassured. And Mike’s saying it for El’s sake, but also Will’s. Max’s. Eddie’s, too. Everyone who’s been hurt by this monster, who won’t be able to sleep at night with even the slimmest chance that he might still be out there.
He has to do something. And until there’s a better plan, or more information to go off of, this is the only option.
He puts his hand out above the table. “Everyone in?”
Lucas, looking determined, slaps his palm on top of Mike’s. Then Will. Then, when there’s only one of them left, they turn to look at Dustin.
Dustin’s mouth twitches to the side. His torn Hellfire shirt ripples in the late-autumn breeze. “I want to see Vecna’s heart on a platter,” he says. His voice is low, almost scarily detached. Like he has nothing left to lose. “Just wish I could do it myself.”

“Is it too presumptuous of me to ask that our negotiations go on?” Lotor asks.

How Lance and Keith find the space to love each other amidst an intergalactic war where they're both key players.
A Voltron rewrite/fix-it focused on redeeming Lotor and developing Lance and Keith's relationship with the only major canonical difference being that Keith grew up with the Blade of Marmora.

Summary
The story ended like this: two boys standing on the shore of a lake, the spring wind just starting to warm with a touch of summer heat. The words “I’m coming with you” and “you need me” and “I love you” ring in the air, echoing with fervor and softness in equal measure. A joint promise to leave all they know behind. Two teenagers, standing on the precipice of saving the world.
Except it wasn’t the end of the story. Not really.
Because the story begins again like this.
// Keith and Lance have survived the trials of the Triwizard Tournament and a battle against the Dark Lord himself, but the war for the Wizarding World is just beginning. Atsushi lets out a dry laugh, trying to ease the tension in the air. "I can guarantee you, I won't hold back either. Still, it doesn't hurt to be friendly while we still can. No need to be so prickly." He raises his arms in a defensive gesture.

Akutagawa knows that his chances of winning the 74th Hunger Games as a scrawny, malnourished Tribute from District 12 are slim to none. Still—he will do everything in his power to win the Games and return to his younger sister Gin for whom he volunteered. What he doesn’t expect is to get caught up in a staged romance with his fellow Tribute, Atsushi Nakajima. It's a performance meant to win over sponsors, but soon the lines between what's act and what's real begin to blur.

“You’re not an angel,” he slurred. The not-angel let out a huff of laughter.
“Yeah, no. Can you move? Why are you even in the middle of the desert?” This not-angel was rather pushy, Lance decided. He needed to learn his manners. Would it kill him to say ‘please?’
“Go ‘way,” he mumbled petulantly.
“C’mon, I can’t leave you half-dead on the side of the road,” the not-angel pleaded, a hint of frustration slipping into his voice. "Work with me here.”
Lance squinted at him. Slowly, his night vision improved, and the outline of his savior began to take shape.
