Summary
Ray looks back at the notebook on the desk, perched on the edge innocently, like it’s mocking him. In the corner of his vision he sees Pete and Art chatting innocuously, Olson cussing them out or talking about naked ladies, Barkovitch bounding several paces ahead just to look back and taunt them. The Major spewing some vapid chauvinistic nonsense about ballsacks. Pete, resplendent in the early morning light, something so old and so, so tired in his dark brown eyes. Ray wonders if it’s possible to be haunted by somebody who’s still alive.
I shot a man in Reno, Johnny Cash croons from his mother’s old jukebox in the living room, just to watch him die.
The Long Walk, he tries again.
The Long Walk was the worst five days of my life. It was also the happiest I’ve ever been.
—
Ray lives, having escaped at the last second when Pete shot the Major. A year passes. Pete begins to spearhead a revolution and Ray can’t leave him and the Walk behind.

“Agent Kitsuragi, are you familiar with an agent by the name of Harrier Du Bois?”
Kim blinks. If by Du Bois he’s referring to Captain Sober Du Bois…
”Yes, sir. I know of him.”
”How so?”
Water-cooler talk. Kim may not be very social at work, but he hears whispers and snickers carried around the office like leaves downstream. Did you hear how Du Bois drank so much he lost his memory? Oh, God, he’s gone on another bender. He’s had three partners resign in as many months. This time he’s on the street screaming about the apocalypse and threatening to blow his brains out.
Agent Kim Kitsuragi in data analysis might be called the record-holder for the Revachol Citizens’ Bureau of Investigation’s least interesting employee. Seemingly out of nowhere, he is assigned to investigate Pale phenomena with Agent Harrier Du Bois, the Bureau’s most infamous paranormal whack job. What could possibly go wrong?

CONCEPTUALIZATION [Heroic : Success] - There is divinity etched into every line of his face, every rustle of his bomber jacket as he moves, the rising and falling of his chest. Anything holy will take his shape. You know this as you know how to blink and breathe.
PHYSICAL INSTRUMENT [Easy : Success] - You have no place next to him. You can feel it down to the marrow of your bones. He is Innocent, capital I, in all senses of the word. You are a great, unstable, hulking mass of meat and bad choices.
—
Harry dreams of the life of the Innocence Perikarnassian — a half-Seolite orphan with a fascination for flying, the makings of a nicotine addiction, and more light inside him than the world can store. What follows is a confession, a beginning, and an epiphany about deserving.

Summary
The realization that she isn’t alone in her own body comes like a gunshot. It’s not like she’d imagined it to be. Not like being possessed by a demon she has to fight and win over. To her horror, she just feels complete. Like a missing piece has been slotted in and she can finally breathe easy.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. This wasn’t the plan. She was supposed to allow Helena into her body to take her over. She couldn’t kill the bitch, so this was the second best option. To consume her mind, take it into her own as the stronger of the two. Another part of her hates it for a completely different reason — there’s an inkling of disgust at herself, like she’s trapped in the walking flesh prison of her captor. Her own body is totally alien to her. The whole ordeal is mortifying.
Helly reintegrates to take over Helena and get rid of her forever. It doesn’t end up working out like that. Mark helps.

Summary
The Wastes are all Keith has ever known.
For nineteen years, the arid desert is all he's seen of the world; his only reprieve from monotonous existence being his father's fantastical tales of heroic deeds and perilous battles among the stars. He can't help but feel drawn to those stars—their beckoning voices a constant tickle in the back of his mind. He dreams of following their call to adventure, but as the years pass, dreams dwindle and concede to obligation. What were once fantasies of purpose and fulfillment wither away entirely, and Keith has officially resined himself to a life of empty nothingness.
Until one day, fate literally comes crashing into Keith's life, and he is swept up into an epic tale of his own.

Summary
"When two souls, which have sought each other for, however long in the throng, have finally found each other …a union, fiery and pure as they themselves are… begins on earth and continues forever in heaven." -Victor Hugo
It is like this: when a matched pair meet, it is usually not long before the first Touch and then the Words. There is always a stirring under the skin to reach out because humans were never designed to live in isolation. There is a pull that never wavers, quiet and calm under the surface. Denying it only makes it stronger and causes chance meetings again and again until they Touch.
It is like this: even Valjean thinks the number times they have met by sheer coincidence is ridiculous and Javert is frankly sick of it.

Summary
Martin loses time. This used to happen to him when he was younger. His thoughts would blur and without him realising, hours would have passed. No one has ever caught him doing it before.
Jon catches him.
(After they leave London, the Lonely doesn’t leave Martin completely. It clings to him the way the Eye clings to them all.
But that’s okay. When Martin gets lost in his head, Jon is there to bring him back.)

Summary
Dean’s expression is dubious where he cocks up one eyebrow. “Cas, this isn’t- There’s nothing I can do about it, okay?” The walls of him, the barb of him that had been there when Castiel stepped into the bathroom, has been reduced to nothing. In these sorts of moments, Dean willingly shows his hurt. And maybe- maybe he will let Castiel help after all. “It’s just… in my head.”
“There’s nothing you can do about it.”
Dean blinks at him, startled.
“Like I said, there’s something I could try.”
Looking down to his hands, then back up to Castiel, Dean seems to hesitate. “And it’ll- it’s not just more soap is it?”
“No, Dean,” the beginnings of something fond make the corners of Castiel’s lips twitch, “it’s not more soap.”
or the one where castiel imagines them all a peaceful cowboy life and helps dean wash his hands
