Martin doesn't blink.
Jon fights the urge to roll his eyes. “Sex,” he spells out dryly. “Copulating, coitus, fucking.”
“Excuse me?” Martin squeaks.
“You’re excused. Can we please just get on with it?”
Martin accidentally summons a demon. It goes about as well as expected.

“What?” Teddy asks. He’s missed part of the conversation.
“Kiss,” Fyn says, their lips twitching, but their blue eyes round and intent. “Swap spit. Make out.”
“Don't be stupid,” he squeaks out.
“As friends,” Fyn breathes. “Like. Cuz we're on the same page. We're on the same page, right?”
“...Right,” Teddy says, not really sure what he's agreeing to.
Fyn and Teddy have a totally platonic night out on the town.

“You don't know what it's like to be one of my whores, Price,” Carter says. He tugs Theodore's corset down over his hips. It drops and tangles around his ankles. “Whores are far better behaved than you, for one. More accommodating. And they know how to ask for what they need.”
“Stop,” he tries to say. It comes out in a wordless whimper. Carter is going to kill him.
“Thought I'd wait until you asked,” Carter continues. “Like a gentleman. Only I ain't a gentleman tonight, am I? Just some flapper in your garden. And here you are, doc, unable to play any role but yourself.”
Doctor Price and Detective Carter have a theater date, with a few more performances than the doctor bargained for.

“Fair is fair,” Price repeats with a scoff. “Please. Haven't you already made it perfectly clear how much of an unfair advantage you have over me?”
“That's a cynical way of putting it,” Carter says. He tenses, just a bit — not enough to alert the doctor, not yet. “I take it this isn't the situation I thought it was. Mind explaining what's actually going on?”
“What you wanted, detective,” Price says, a smug smile just twitching around the corners of his lips. “An examination. Really, you don't think I would have sexual relations in my clinic, do you?”
Carter shrugs, nonchalant. “First time for everything.”
Detective Fyn Carter figures that, after everything that happened on the last case, it's about time he paid that nervous Doctor Price a visit and tied up some loose ends.
Surely that's the only reason for visiting.

“This isn't a play, Fyn,” he says. “It’s my life. And it's n-not dramatic, or full of exciting characters, it's just…normal people, a-and normal, shitty things, and that's it. I'm sorry, but that's all it is. There's no secret plotline here for you to unravel!”
Fyn sits, fists pressing into their thighs, heartbeat too loud in their ears. They should feel bad. They should back off. Teddy's right, they're making up stories to make themselves feel better, and it's making things worse– per usual. Shut up, finish laundry, give Teddy their bed for the night, sober up on the couch and apologize in the morning. That's all they need to do.
They open their mouth.
Teddy Price is a med student in desperate need of stress relief. So when his self-declared, totally definitely platonic best friend Fyn Carter sees him with a guy they don't recognize at a Halloween party, they're just happy that Teddy's finally getting some well-deserved attention.
When things go wrong, Teddy goes to Fyn for help -- and Fyn decides to take their friend's satisfaction into their own hands.
