Summary
The room is not big, but it's not small either. It doesn't look much like an office except for the crammed in desks and typewriters. The floor is wood, stained dark. Light streams in through a barely-open window, lending all of the brown a forgiving sheen of gold. The rain must have stopped.
Several of the desks are overfilled with knick-knacks and books, definitely not in a suitable state to work at. Behind one of these, a man sits with his feet on top of the table and its contents, ankles crossed. If Eddie had to make a guess he'd say he's around Eddie's own age. White, with dark hair. He's wearing glasses.
Bingo. This is his man.

Summary
David pulls up a video on the large monitor between them. It's shot outside a building – a courthouse, David tells her. Two men have been stopped to be interviewed by whoever's filming. Both of them have their arms crossed tight, shoulders drawn up high, almost shifty looking. The taller one is in a puffer jacket, has a hat pulled down low on his forehead, looking like any Maine country bumpkin.
"We don't know what happens next," he answers the interviewer, and with a start Sam realizes that it's Richie Tozier, the comedian. She doesn't recognize the other man, but a title card identifies him as William Denbrough. -

Through the office rumor mill Richie learns that Eddie has a mortgage on a house he doesn't live in, a frequently used membership in the gym on the fourth floor, and an ongoing divorce that keeps him tightly glued to his cell phone, constantly whispering, "We said we'd only talk via the mediator. No, Myra, only via the mediator," through gritted teeth, pacing in his office whenever Richie happens to pass by after his lunch break.
Richie has a Playstation 3 that only works when leaned slightly to the side, propped up with a broken mug he made taking a drunken pottery class with Bev. So they're on slightly different life paths.

Summary
When the beer is all gone – and Stan’s cocktail too via some unasked for assistance – Richie's spirits rise to their prior heights. "I'm gonna text Eddie to see if he's awake," he crows, "it's gonna be so funny."
"How is that funny," Stan asks, but he's always had a weird sense of humor, he wouldn't get it.
"It's funny ‘cause he'll think I'm hitting him up for a booty call. He's gonna be so pissed." The thought makes Richie giddy. He's been pushing it with the gay chicken lately, ratcheting up the fake flirting to match his recently out persona, and it's been getting on Eddie’s nerves – scratch that, it’s been getting on everyone’s nerves.

Summary
They take up the entire couch; with his knees bent Richie's sneaker clad feet are scuffing the arm rest, but Eddie seems to kind of fit. Kind of. It's almost like they've done this before, what with the way Richie's imagined it a hundred times; Eddie pushing him back and down into some kind of soft surrender. But they haven't. They definitely haven't.

Summary
Richie gets up to wash his hands, then snaps on a facemask and gloves. He lands back in his chair with half a spin.
“I'm just gonna take a look-see first. Open wide." Eddie does, and Richie angles the light above to shine onto him. He tugs Eddie's lower lip slightly downwards, runs a gloved finger over his bottom row of teeth, and something in Eddie's gut seizes up. Oh, he's in trouble. What the hell is he doing here?

Summary
The Grindr pictures are nice, just two good ol’ Eddie K headshots the likes of which Richie has more than a few saved on his own phone. One is without a smile, one with. Richie likes the second one more. He does have that one saved, he's pretty sure. Or one just like it.
Richie reads Eddie's description. It's pretty short. Name, age, weight, height. Body type: Toned. The sexual health section is extensively covered, he's even got a list of vaccinations like he's a shelter dog up for adoption.

"You're– Are you a caddie?" the youngest golfer asks.
"Yes, sir, born and raised." After having spoken Richie realizes this might actually be their preferred mode of being addressed. Ben had given him some guidebook full of rules and what-not when he'd oh-so-kindly gotten Richie the gig by spraining his ankle yesterday and needing an emergency replacement. And Richie had put that guidebook in his pocket with the intent to read it, really he did, but it must've gotten lost somewhere on the short journey between Ben's place and his own.
"That one's yours, Kaspbrak," the neither-young-nor-old man says with a laugh, elbowing the younger one. And with that apparently Richie is Kaspbrak's, who has the decency to shake his hand and introduce himself as Eddie.

They're going for the triple threat, the triple feature, where you rent three movies and watch them all in one go. Or the Eddie-Richie-classic, as Eddie secretly calls it; a perfectly deadly combo that makes sure you're zonked out the following day. Eddie loves all of it, especially sleeping in the day after and the slow breakfast with Richie when his parents have already eaten long ago. The way they're left to their own devices, almost like they're grown up and roommates or something.

Richie talks to the maitre'd while Eddie stands to the side, hip cocked, zoned out from the usual Tozier-prattle. A movement from someone on his other side catches his attention.
“Can I take your jacket, Mr. Tozier?” the man standing there asks, his hand held out with a waiting smile. He's clearly addressing Eddie.
Eddie freezes up and stammers, "Uh, yes, thank you," as he hands over his jacket and hopes Richie didn't hear. Thrown off-kilter, his feet feel unsteady on the glossy black floor. Just a mix up, that's all, it would be ridiculous to think of it any other way.

There’s not always an audience to perform for," and at the time he’d laughed it off, of course, rolled his eyes, What a groundbreaking observation, a comedian seeking validation, but sometimes when he’s alone it creeps up on him: Are you performing right now? Who are you performing for? Are you performing right now?
“I go to therapy now,” he blurts out.
Eddie looks up from his phone, clearly surprised.
“Oh.” He nods, blurry in the corner of Richie's eye. “Me too.”
“Dope,” Richie says, popping the p hard. The conversation halts.

"I think 3 am classifies as night. But sure, it's evening for me." Is Eddie imagining the beat of hesitance in his voice? He imagines where Richie might be, sitting on his couch, maybe even his bed? Maybe half-undressed, getting ready to sleep, his shirt off. Maybe half-hard in the tacky pants he wears to his shows. Eddie turns onto his back, restlessness overtaking him, making him push the covers down from his scarred chest and rest his twitching hand low over his stomach. He shoots his shot.
