“Hello there,” Phainon greets softly. He crouches down, inching closer. Mydei doesn’t budge, only tenses like a tightly coiled spring. “My name is Phainon. You’re Mydeimos, right?”
Mydei doesn’t respond, lips pressed tightly shut. Phainon’s smile wavers, chest squeezing tight.
“No one’s going to hurt you here,” he murmurs, extending his arm out. Mydei growls. Fear flashes through his eyes for a fleeting second, but it’s enough to have Phainon freezing in place, breath catching in his throat.
(A mishap at the Abyss of Fate leaves Mydei a child whose only memories are of the Sea of Souls.)

Summary
At first, avoiding the observants had been pretty easy. Ghosts were naturally very honest, making it easy for even the worst of liars (Danny) to fool them. It also helped that Danny had enlisted the assistance of Clockwork in distracting the observants for as long as possible. Clockwork had promised Danny peace until his final day in Amity Park. Danny thought it was just Clockwork’s criptic way of saying he had until his natural death, from which he would proceed on to the Infinite Realms as a full ghost.
He did not, however, anticipate the impossible: Danny had received a full scholarship to Gotham University to pursue a degree in astrophysics and aerospace engineering.
or,
Danny moves out of Amity to attend Gotham University and finally start pursuing his dream of working for NASA. However, right after he moves, he has to announce his claim to the crown to the realms and doesn't anticipate how wide spread the effect is.
Damian is kidnapped(?) by Talia and taken back to Nanda Parbat to assist in one of his grandfather's rituals. He didn't expect to be the offering.

Death wasn't something Damian was worried about .Not when he couldn't die. But holding secrets from his family, who paint him as reckless and too abrasive, is bound to pile up till it explodes. And of course, it starts and ends with Damian dying. Oh, and Jon's there too. Damian blames the start of his unraveling as Jonathan's fault. But, to be fair, its really not as bad as it seems. He can feel the blood beading where her ring has carved into his cheek and it stings under her touch but the vitriolic Arabic that so sharply rolls off her tongue right after cuts so much deeper.
"You are an only child, Ibn al Xu'ffasch."
Her nails dig into his jaw, forcing his head up to meet her eyes. "You have always been an only child. You'd do well to remember that."
A part of him resents her for calling him the sole heir. Splinters at the idea he was born alone. Another wonders if she is right. If he can even call himself a brother anymore when his is scattered, thousands of miles away, ashes in an unmarked grave.

“Why Plastic Man?” Hal asked.
“He’s on monitor duty right now,” the Bat didn’t even sound out of breath. He was typing something out on some sort of communicator device he had pulled from his belt. It looked like a phone, but a bit bulkier. He put a hand to his comm and switched it on, so the three heroes with him heard both his actual voice and the echo of it in their ears. Though Batman was clearly trying to reach Clark, Diana, and Barry, it threw Hal off balance for a second.
“The intruder is not dangerous. Do not engage.”
Hal was just disoriented enough that he kept running, spurred on by the fact that, despite his message, Batman was still sprinting down the halls. The three of them reached the medbay, and Batman came to an abrupt halt, the other three skidding to a stop beside him. Standing there, covered in blood, was Nightwing.

The Bats gather on the Watchtower. Tensions are high. The JL just wants to know what the hell is going on.
