The wood cracks beneath it; across the bar, Vander looks up from his table, Silco beside him. “It doesn’t matter, he’s still a traitorous idiot. He still fucked with my head.” He jabs a finger against his temple hard enough to hurt. “If he’s up here, Sevika, it’s because he forced it. Biology is irrelevant, he’ll never be my mate.”

With Piltover and Noxus at war, both sides know securing Zaun is integral to coming out on top. Viktor becomes an integral figure in deciding how the war will end. Jayce hopes to convince him to fight on Piltovers side - if he can get Viktor to talk to him.

But Jayce doesn’t seem the type to want Viktor’s ire. Something about his expression, so open until now, is guarded — wounded. Viktor squares himself and makes a bold guess.
“You want to be good for me, then?”
The energy between them snaps taught as piano wire. Jayce looks at Viktor with open wonder, his mouth falling open. It’s as if he’s been seen for the first time, though now that he’s said it Viktor finds the idea laughably obvious. A man who sought out someone whose life he could improve doesn’t do that for nothing. Viktor is so relieved to find something self-serving under Jayce’s idealism.
“I would,” Jayce says, his voice a strained whisper.

Jayce, a wealthy werewolf from Piltover, hires vampire sex worker Viktor to get him through his rut. Together, they come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.

“Don’t try to move, okay?” Jayce tells him. “You probably have a concussion at the very least, after a fall like that.”
“A fall…” Viktor’s brows crease. “No. No, nothing nearly as crass as a simple fall, I think. We were…” He closes his eyes and exhales. “Beyond the material plane. Cradled in the embrace of the Arcane. It was…infinity.”
“Well, whatever it was, it was up, and now we’re on the ground,” Jayce says firmly, shifting his fingers down from his cheek to check the pulse at his neck. It’s steady, if quick and a bit faint. “So until we get some more points of data, I’m gonna treat this as a fall.”
Viktor exhales again, and then–
He laughs.
It’s weak, but it’s warm. The way he used to laugh after spending a long night in the workshop, when Jayce would crack a cheesy joke to try and startle something human from him after hours of intellectual rigor. He laughs, and he grabs at Jayce’s wrist, and he laughs, and he laughs, and Jayce finds himself laughing too.
It’s relief. It’s disbelief. It’s joy. It’s impossible, the two of them. It could never be anything else.

Summary
Adam had found that there was nothing Lawrence enjoyed more than dressing him up, and taking him somewhere fancy to show him off. At the beginning it had rubbed Adam the wrong way- he didn’t need to be treated like some doll, or some fixer-upper Lawrence could mould into the kind of man he could actually be with- but eventually it had just become… fun. The new clothes never hurt, and they usually ended up having a good time wherever they went.
