Summary
The watchers watch over the worlds, make sure the players within them are safe, and never progress too far to loose interest in their worlds. When a world has progressed too far, the watchers let the players within them die off so they can be moved to new worlds with none of their previous memories to start anew. But with another world reaching its end and being set into hardcore, something is wrong. The players aren't dying fully. They are still alive, but in a grey scale.
When the watchers notice this, they send their newest and youngest watcher, Grian, to enter the world and fix the problem. But the world and it's players may have a greater effect on Grian than he does on them.

“Just hang on, Theseus.” Tubbo’s hands shook as he hung from the window, slowly inching his way down. The bracelet jangled against his skin, catching on some of the ties. “I’m on my way!” Tubbo hit the grass, softly, with the tips of his feet.
Technoblade had showed him how to fall silently, the same blank expression as his hand had waved. It had trembled and Tubbo had pretended not to notice. If Tubbo had anything to say about it, Technoblade would never be sad about Theseus again.
Tubbo set off into the woods, backpack bobbing. He needed to get some serious ground in before the sun rose, or he’d get dragged right back.
He took a sharp, cold breath. For Theseus, Tubbo could do anything.

Theseus was the son of the god Phil and the youngest brother of godly twins Technoblade and Wilbur. Ten years ago, he vanished without a trace. Bonded from their friendship, Tubbo always insisted Theseus was alive, even with no other proof than his own surety.
One night, Tubbo escapes from his godly family. Without Theseus, he can't come into his godly powers. He wants his friend back, and sets off into the night, following the compass left in his chest.

After their conversation about wanting to runaway from their responsibilities in Manburg and Pogtopia, neither Tubbo nor Tommy had been able to stop thinking about the idea, but to them it was something they couldn't risk doing with everything that was going on.
However, when the festival had come and gone, Tommy made the decision to runaway with the now heavily injured and unconscious Tubbo while also being injured himself. When they run into Phil while on the road everything changes for the two scarred teens. But what will Phil do when he learns about how Wilbur had been acting and about what Techno had done?
