Summary
“Is what you and I have weird?”
…“I’ve been thinking about it. We’re partners. You have my back, everyday, in all things. In spite of and probably because of everything we’ve been through.” Eddie is speaking at such a pace, that when he stops to look at Buck, his face is unreadable. But, the dam has broken and the force of water is unrelenting. Eddie must find the end of this.
He is levelled.
“If you were a woman, I think I would’ve married you by now.”
Buck’s mouth actually drops open, almost comically. A barely audible “Oh” is spoken and Buck leans back like he’s been reeled in against the couch behind him.
“That’s weird.”
Or in which Eddie finally catches up to Buck at 2am in the silence.

Summary
“Steve.” He thinks someone is saying, but the ringing in his ears is deafening and Steve thinks he might pass out. He spins around and his wavering eyes land on a teary and breathless Robin. She says it again, he thinks. It looks like his name on her lips, but he can’t hear her over Eddie dying.
Eddie is dying and Dustin is screaming, but the ringing won’t stop. Steve feels himself drop to the ground as Robin is yelling something again. Eddies eyes are lulling open and close and there’s blood everywhere. Too much blood. There’s too much blood.

Summary
“Is that okay with you?” Eddie’s voice was soft and sweet and careful and Steve just wanted him to do something predictable for once because he’d never experienced someone so charmingly off-putting in his life. It was becoming hard to measure his own response against him.
“Is that okay with-“ Steve all but whispered “What? -God you gotta stop that.”
“Stop what?”
Steve dropped his hands and shot an exasperated look at Eddie. Eddie only then realised how close they had gotten, as Steve’s sigh coasted over his face and a shiver settled on Eddie’s neck.
“Stop being so God damn nice.” Steve said softly, not at all reflecting the tone of his words. Eddie cocked his head to side, finally recognising the moment.
Oh. Oh.
Okay, Alright.
Eddie knew this part well.“You could always do something about it, Harrington.”

Officer Steve Harrington has been surviving since Eddie Munson died in the upside down three years ago. He wasn’t plagued by Eddie’s death, and he was not drowning in guilt over the way it ended. The holes in the ground around Hawkins were fine, the quarantine that had set in was fine. Steve was dealing well with the fact the kids were about to graduate high school, and he was not at all worried about Dustin Henderson. So, when a suspicious looking package turns up at his apartment one evening it of course will not throw him through a loop when he discovers the package is a tatty cassette case of Master of Reality by Black Sabbath. And when the a note stuffed in back of the case says “Miss me, Big Boy?” Steve most certainly will not freak out.
Steve’s freaking out.

Or it’s been three years since the upside down went shit side up, and the kids have not been coping in the healthiest ways. Steve has now been working for the sheriff's department for two years when something strange begins knocking on his door.

“How come you’re still awake?” Buck asks, antsy. He pulls at a loose thread inside one pocket with pinched fingers, rapidly picking apart the stitching. Better to unravel that than eight years of friendship all because said friend’s shorts have ridden up agonizingly at the thigh.
“I was waiting for you to get back. You’re kind of early, though.” Eddie’s eyes are tracked to the TV, but they dart over at Buck when he asks, “You strike out with Dixie?”
Which… Buck doesn’t even know where to start. He desperately needs to buy a vowel.
“Huh? Why—what—did I miss a text?”
Eddie, sat cross-legged on top of pearly-white cotton sheets, a vision so soft it’s making Buck dizzy, has the audacity to look puzzled. “Not from me. Why?”

The question was innocent enough. Still, Dennis felt his face heat up, his thoughts going to wrong places … again.
Dennis took half a second to organize his thoughts, still standing there with the helmet on, before answering. — Once or twice.
— Good — Robby said easily. He patted the seat behind him. — Then get on.

“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

Summary
At first, Mike was unsure how to approach him when he got like this. But they’ve been living together for months now, never further than five feet apart in their dorm beds, so Mike’s learned what works and what doesn’t.
It works when he wakes Will like this, with gentle hands and words, telling him he’s safe. It works when he climbs into Will’s warm bed, turning him on his side and curling up against his back, an arm over his waist and his cheek pressed against his shoulder. They lie together like that until Will’s hiccupping gasps soften into steady breaths, until Mike feels him go limp in his arms and he knows he’s fallen back asleep. It always works.
or: Will has nightmares and Mike is the only one who can console him. Not even Will's boyfriend can. Mike takes great pride in this fact.
