Summary
"It's what your Uncle Daniel would have looked like. I wish I could have a family photo of him as an adult. A whole family photo with the kids," Margaret sighs.
Buck barely refrains from rolling his eyes.
Jee studies the phone screen and looks up at Buck before looking back at the screen, "It looks like Uncle Buck without his special mark."
Both Maddie and Margaret look at the screen and mimic Jee's previous motions of looking at Buck and then back at the screen. Buck shifts uncomfortably at the scrutiny.
"Huh. It does, doesn't it?" Margaret says.
Post New Mexico, Buck is trying to recover, trying to regain his identity as himself (even if no one else knows of his struggles) but he wonders if it would be easier to submit, to be Derek or Daniel. Certainly no one seems to want him as Buck...do they?

Summary
"Who I am is unimportant. You have a decision to make and only a limited time to make it, before it's too late for your fellow firefighter."
Buck spares a short glance at Eddie, the sallowness of his skin and shallow raspy breaths belaying what Buck already logically knows - Eddie needs medical attention, and quickly.
"Please, he's got a son," Buck pleads.
"They always do. That has no bearing on the decision that must be made. Only one of you will be making it out of here alive and that decision will be made by you."
Wrong place, wrong time - Buck and Eddie unintentionally fall into a saw trap of life and death. A choice needs to be made and sacrifice is the aim of the game.

Summary
Maddie has tears in her eyes as she approaches Eddie like a spooked animal, "Eddie, Buck's good at hiding things when he wants to. No one would have known."
"But I should have!" Eddie exclaims and then quieter repeats himself, "I should have known."
Eddie accidentally leaves his phone at Buck's place after their visit - when he returns to collect it, the house is dark and Buck isn't answering.

Summary
"You need a proper Stetson," Eddie takes his own off and places it on Buck's head, adjusting it slightly and stepping back minutely to admire his handiwork, "There. The colour suits you."
Buck's staring at him, jaw dropped, "Eddie…I may not have grown up in El Paso or Nashville but I did work on a ranch and I know what hat rules are…"
Eddie smirks, "That's good then, so I don't need to explain to you what this means, do I?"
"I mean…I didn't think so but now I'm not so sure," Buck furrows his brow in thought, maybe it means something different?
Eddie leans in to whisper, "It means exactly what you think it means."
Buck and Eddie's last night in Nashville ends a little differently when Buck turns down Dixie in favour of returning to the hotel room with Eddie. Eddie decides to take a chance and claim Buck for himself - it works out well for both of them.

Summary
"Did you need a ride or…" Alex asks.
Eddie glances up at her from his phone where he had been texting Chris and shakes his head, "Nah, I'm good. Buck's here."
"That's nice of your co-worker to do that."
"Buck's not my co-worker. Well he is technically but he's not just my co-worker, you know?" Eddie half shrugs.
"Ready to go Eds?" Buck announces and holds up the bag of medication and wound care equipment.
Eddie grins at him, "Sure am."
Alex looks between the pair amused and mutters under her breath, "Oh I think I know exactly what he is."
Missing Scene/Semi Coda Fic for Season 9 Episode 11: Going Once Going Twice
Harry didn't tell Buck that Eddie was in hospital - Buck knew because he's been checking the Find My Friends app constantly since Chris didn't get off the bus. What will Eddie's reaction be when he finds out this tidbit of information?

Summary
My fanfictions tend to start from a random scene or bit of dialogue and then I need to build the whole story around that one snippet/scene/dialogue/vibe. Other times I get a random scene that I'm not sure where to use or if I can build anything from it.
So rather than send these bits of work off to the plot bunny graveyard, I figured I'll put them up on here and my tumblr because why not?
None of these are related.

Summary
“So, a witch, huh?”
Buck froze for half a second before the irritation took over and made him grit his teeth. What was with this dude? Buck clenched his fist at his side as he turned to Eddie, who was perfectly coiffed with his stupid perfect dangerous hair and stupid pretty un-trustable smirk. Eddie waved his hand in front of him with a twist of his wrist, motioning between them.
“I figured that’s what got you all riled up about me being here.”

Summary
“Okay, okay,” Buck concedes with a laugh. He doesn’t totally believe Eddie, because there’s no way his job holds any weight against a fucking rocket scientist. But then he looks down at Christopher who is rubbing at Eddie’s scalp as fast as he can, creating a soapy lather. Eddie is grinning as he reaches back to use the suds to style his hair into an exaggerated mohawk, twisting in his chair to pull faces at his son, and Buck admits to himself that maybe his job is pretty fucking important.
or
The one where Eddie outsources his hair washing post shooting, meets Buck, and learns to accept the good things in life.

Summary
Buck huffed, trying to pull away, but Eddie didn’t let him.
He raised a hand, pressing it against the wall beside Buck’s head, blocking any chance of escape. His other arm slid to the side of Buck’s waist, not touching—just there, a presence.
Buck swallowed hard, his eyes flicking up to meet Eddie’s again.
"Eddie..."
"Tell me to stop," Eddie challenged, his voice low, rough. "If you really want me to stop, just say it..."
Or… Eddie comes back from Texas and ends up living with Buck, but something feels off. Buck avoids him, dodges conversations, and seems determined to keep his distance — and Eddie has no idea why. The problem? Eddie has never been a very patient man. And when he finally loses his patience, Buck finds himself quite literally against the wall.

Summary
“What’re you-” he began asking, cutting himself off when Buck released his hand from his grasp. He pulled his hand back to his chest, looking down at the new adornment Buck had given him.
He let out a little huff and rolled his eyes good-naturedly, climbing into the truck after Buck.
They sat with their knees pressed together, the entire team chatting idly on their way back to the station. Buck’s eyes drifted from Hen and Chimney’s bickering over the recent episode of Love Island to Eddie, intending to ask him when he would finally start watching it with them, but stopped himself short. Eddie was staring down at the back of his hand, pointer finger tracing the edges of the sticker Buck had bestowed on him, the slightest trace of a smile pulling softly at the corners of his mouth.
