“We should stop,” Sam pants the next time he draws back. But his hands somehow end up on Bucky’s waist, a rough grip that makes his knees weak and makes an unfamiliar warmth burn in his stomach.
“Probably,” Bucky agrees, because it’s the logical thing to say. He knows it and Sam knows it and all they need to do is just – stop. It might be awkward for a bit, but they can just pretend it never happened and go on bickering with each other until this mission is done. That’s what should happen.
But if Bucky’s being honest with himself, it’s not what he wants to happen.

“Shh,” Bob whispers again. “Just relax, John.”
He does. He can’t help it. He’s fucking melting into the bed like Bob’s touch is magic, all of his thoughts dissipating in the sensation.
“That’s it,” Bob continues. His touch grows firmer – thumb rubbing circles into the knots in John’s shoulder. “Just relax. You’re doing good.”
The whimper that comes out of John’s mouth is entirely involuntary and incredibly embarrassing.
“Just like that,” Bob murmurs as if John hasn’t made a noise. “I’ve got you. You’re doing so good.”
It’s – he’s – John’s fucking burning up inside. He feels so warm. Doesn’t know whether to leave – to flee from whatever the fuck Bob’s words are doing to him, injury be damned – or to press back into the touch, to lean into the comfort and soak up these scraps he’s being offered.

If he thinks about the shape of Bonnet’s mouth, the curve of his lips and the particular quirk of his self-satisfied smile. If he just – just looks, sometimes, in ways he should definitely not be looking at his fucking boyfriend’s boyfriend.
“I’ve seen the way you look at me,” he says as if he can read Izzy’s mind. “I’ve seen you stare at my mouth.”
“You’ve seen jack shit,” Izzy retorts. Like fuck is he going to admit to any of that.
“I know what I’ve seen, Israel.”
Oh, fuck. The sound of his full name, spoken like that, sends shivers racing down his side. It’s a fight to keep his body in check, to keep himself from visibly reacting. He feels like he’s balanced on the edge of the cliff, still waiting to see which side he’s going to fall down. Like a step in either direction will irrevocably change his life in ways he hasn’t even realized yet.

“It burns,” I ground out, taking a heaving breath. I opened my eyes, pulling my arms out from around him. I moved my shaking hand to his face, feeling his cheek under my hand. He felt so cold compared to the inferno that was blazing its way under my skin.
Grimm’s eyes widened as he felt my hand moving across his face. “What can I do, Loveage? How can I help?”
A moment or two passed in silence. The heat felt like it was crawling up and down my body, and I didn’t entirely feel like myself when I said: “Kiss me.”
A re-write of Chapter 23 of Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy where, instead of finding a way to rid Leo of the curse, Sybilla's counterspell makes the effects of the love curse worse. Leo needs to be closer to Grimm than ever.
