He always thought of himself as a doorway, a gate between the living and the dead. Translation is just a different kind of door. One that is also his to hone, but one that he is not burdened with.
Or, a study of Klaus's relationship to foreign language, his powers, his family, and how close he manages to make it to contentment before it's snatched away.
