Silver rubs his eyes with the hand he isn’t currently allowing a horse to chew on. “Three hours…? Why? Wouldn’t that have disrupted your schedule?”
“Of course it would have.” Riddle scoffs, as if annoyed that Silver even had to ask. “You can understand my frustration, then.”
Perhaps, but it doesn’t make any sense for Riddle to stay. He’s the sort to schedule activities down to the minute. A three-hour delay doesn’t seem like something he’d ever allow for, much less one where he’s doing largely nothing but kicking back with the horses.
Not to mention… Silver squints at the sky, which has begun to shift to more of an orange colour. So he slept through the entire afternoon… he exhales through his nose.
“I apologise, then. I hadn’t meant to keep you… erm, why did you stay, Riddle?”
Riddle gives Silver another one of those do you even have to ask? looks, jutting out his lower lip and turning his head away. “Clearly, I couldn’t leave you here alone.”

Silver wakes up from an impromptu nap to find Riddle watching over him.

“Oh, no, no,” he shakes his head, “I’m quite alright, thank you, Silver.” He clears his throat, eyes still sparkling, and Silver feels his face warming. He’s not embarrassed, exactly—or well, not completely, he’s a little embarrassed—but Vil’s laugh is pure and clear, like the sound of bells chiming. Or maybe birdsong. Silver has a difficult time putting an exact word to the sound, already at a bit of a loss for words. “I was just noticing your nails.”
“My nails?” Silver frowns down at them. His nails are a little longer than he likes them to be right now. It’s just inconvenient to do anything with them when they can extend past the tips of his fingers. It’s getting to be around the time when he’d ask his father to cut them down with his dagger again. “What about them?”
Vil’s lips press into a thin line, as though this answer displeases him somehow. “Have you… ever done anything with them?”

The prince is standing in the doorway of Momota’s room, arms folded and a single eyebrow raised, gazing down at Momota in the way that he only can when Momota is seated. He’s dressed surprisingly casually in stockings, a simple dark purple tunick, and his characteristic black and white checkered neckerchief.
It’s not so uncommon for Ouma to seek him out, but Momota’s still a bit hesitant as he lifts a hand and waves. Ouma would usually have said what he wants by now, if anything, and the look on his face—mild but expectant, his eyebrow lifted—makes it impossible to tell what’s on his mind. Momota shifts under the weight of his gaze and lifts a hand in greeting.
“Hey, your highness,” he says, inclining his head. “What’s—”
“Dance with me,” Ouma interjects. Momota blinks.
“Huh?”

He sneezes automatically, so hard that he starts to cough, stumbling backwards into the shelf behind him. The mere action of coughing alone is enough to launch him into another fit. He doubles over, hands lifted to cup his mouth against the spray of blood from his lips. Momota’s head spins, his throat burning with each cough that rips out of him. He manages to choke down a gasp at one point, pressing his hand into his lips, and lasts four and a half seconds total before he starts to hack again.
Somewhere beyond the coughing, Momota registers a sound much more terrible than his own horrid coughing: the door to the warehouse opening, followed by a gasp. Momota immediately tries to swallow it down, head shaking, one of his hands going to brace himself against the shelf behind him, but already whoever it is is running over, gripping his shoulders.
“Momota-kun!”

Momota heads out to grab some painkillers past midnight. His illness is discovered by someone unexpected.
