Summary
Higgs’ gloves are rough against his chin, pushing with just enough force to part Sam’s jaw and force the rim of the bottle in. The beer is cold and rich across his tongue, pricking his nose, flooding his throat. Sam rears back, beer flowing down his chin as he chokes, coughing wetly. The alcohol splatters across Higgs’ boots, and he gasps for air.
“Always gasping out such pretty noises for me, ain’t ‘cha?”

Summary
After a long day of hauling deliveries across the continent, taking a dip in the hot springs is absolute bliss.
No one is ever around, and even if by some chance another Porter did stop by, everyone knew about the benefits of taking a nice long break in the gently steaming waters. It was like an unspoken code; you don’t bother a Porter on their break.
Then something touches Sam’s leg.
PWP Sam/Higgs having some old fashioned tentacle fun. Takes place midgame, no major spoilers.

Summary
Higgs comes across Sam in the wild, and learns an exciting little secret about his favourite porter. Naturally, he makes the most of it.
Higgs' breath gusts heavy along his neck, deep pulls of air so close to Sam's scent glands it feels like a caress. Sam jerks his head away, but that only serves to expose more of his throat to the tongue that burns a line up his neck.
A low rumble vibrates through him, through the both of them; pure undiluted satisfaction. "They just let you out like this, huh?" Higgs asks. "Or did you slip the leash?"
Sam's head feels full of fog, and it takes him far too long to grind out, "What?"
"Right on the cusp of your heat, smelling just," his murderer takes another deep breath, voice gravel over smoke as he finishes, "good enough to eat. Who'd have thought the mythical Sam Bridges was an omega."

It’s hard to reconcile with it all. The man who’d orchestrated all the misery in the last few months of Sam’s life is sprawled out on his bed, eating pizza. Every time he thinks about it too hard, it makes his blood boil. Opens a pit of despair in his gut so wide that it starts to feel like the same tar he expels when he repatriates.

"I'm not about to kill myself, Robby," Jack said, easy. "If I were going to kill myself, I wouldn't do it here, for you all to find, because that's just rude. I'd eat my gun at home like a proper soldier. Iraq vets have a system, man, it's tradition," he drawled, putting some grim humor on the last.
"Gotta be honest, man, you're not making me feel better over here," Robby said, his voice actually worried now.
"Would it help to know I'm out here because it reminds me that I want to be alive?"

"Man, you're like something out of Les Mis right now," Jack drawled, flicking his eyes over him pointedly. "And look, I know Collins is one-of-a-kind and all, but it wasn't great at the end there," Robby took a breath to say something, so Jack held out a hand, "don't argue, you know I'm right. So I say we do something to slam you back in your body and remind you that good things exist and you should have them."
Robby just blinked at him, brown eyes wide and startled. "And your solution is we roll around in bed with a woman you just met. The three of us. Together," he added, like he wanted to be real clear on what they were talking about.

“Yeah. Heard it on the scanner,” Jack replies, absently. The screen lights up his pale face, freckles popping under dark smudged eyes.

Summary
A particularly tragic case has left Robby low. Jack comes over to raise his spirits, and though Robby is one secretive son of a bitch when it comes to his own feelings, everything seems like it will be okay.
Later, the unthinkable happens. The attempt leaves Robby in the hospital and Jack scrambling to make sense of it all. He would've preferred Robby shoot him stone-cold dead.
As he starts the long road to recovery, Robby and Jack wrestle with the aftermath. Not only dealing with the devastation of his partner trying to take his own life, Jack struggles with his moral obligations as a doctor, a friend, and a partner. Robby wants to continue to be a pillar for his family to depend on, but has to come to terms with the fact that he cannot be an island forever. -

A juvenile presents to the Pitt with an infected laceration. When Robby goes to examine, he finds that it's not only infected, the leg is dead from the knee-down. He breaks the news to his religious mother, who takes out a gun and gives Dr. Robinavitch an ultimatum: either he fixes the leg without amputation, or he dies.
At home, Jack struggles with guilt after an argument with Robby the prior night. He doesn't have time to make a proper apology with their shifts, but at the very least, he can bring Robby lunch as a peace offering.

Whenever the Pitt gets a new round of medical students, the bet starts again. Its question is simple: when will the medical students realize that Dr. Robby and Dr. Abbot are, in fact, together?
On the day that the bet ends, peril strikes the ER. A patient attacks Dr. Abbot, leaving him concussed. Though Robby sends him home, he can't quite shake off the worry. The thought of gathering Jack in his arms again is the only thing pulling him through this shift.

"Yeah? Chicken pot pie?" Jack hums, raising his eyebrows, receiving an affirming nod from the other. "Gonna go on a stereotypical-ass spirit journey? That's what you're going to do, Michael? That's the reason you hugged me like that? Like you were savoring it?"

And for things that mattered to him the most, he might as well have been the dragon guarding his hoard. A very scared dragon, maybe, who was terrified of being known. Jack was determined to know him regardless.
