Summary
After sneaking into the room where the Arkenstone is kept safe, a young prince Thorin touches it and a strange burning mark appears on his palm, moments before the jewel bursts apart and something hatches from it.
Turns out that it wasn't a jewel after all, but an egg — a dragon egg. And the dragon and Thorin are now connected physically and mentally, able to communicate through their thoughts.
Somehow, Thorin doesn't mind at all.
(Or: The Arkenstone is found when Thorin is a child, it's actually a dragon egg, Bilbo hatches from it, and they fall in love)

When they reach their majority, every hobbit is encouraged to carve or forge a spoon that would be their Love Spoon. It’s a very sacred process as no talking can be done during the crafting of the spoon. All of their energy must be concentrated on pouring their hopes and dreams for the future into their spoon. Reflecting especially on what type of spouse would compliment them most, what type of marriage they hope to have, and what vows they would make to honor and cherish them. The symbols etched into their spoon would showcase all of this so that way when their future spouse used it for the first time, they knew exactly what they were getting out of this marriage. And that’s it. Once someone has taken a bite from a dish prepared by the spoon’s owner, they are married in the eyes of the Shire. The act is reciprocated, and the lucky couple move in together in marital bliss.
Bilbo agonized over his spoon. A spoon no one ever seemed to want, and he had accepted his fate at no one ever eating from. Then a company of dwarves invaded his dining room, and their leader took a bite...

Summary
Everyone knows that the gods have numerous children. Besides being responsible for controlling aspects of the world, that's what they're known for. Demigods are a dime a dozen, and while the gods do care for their children, we all know that they are willing to send them to their deaths for 'the greater good,' or sometimes just for a chance at glory.
But what if demigods... didn't exist?
What if there was a Pantheon that couldn't have children with mortals, only producing stillborns and monsters?
Faced with the threat of It's world's timeline being destroyed due to this cosmic error, Fate itself seeks to intervene. It tears through reality and snatches away a select few demigods to gift to It's Pantheon, erasing and manipulating the memories of It's most vulnerable chosen, as well as rewinding the years on all that It takes, to help with the bonding process.

Or at least it was, right up until the moment Stiles finds himself forced to partner up with Derek Hale - his least favorite fellow agent and the hottest person Stiles has ever met. Hale's always had it out for Stiles.
And he's also the boss' son.
