“Yeah,” she says, putting a finger that looks like a cannoli to her lips thoughtfully. “You always are. Happy. No, you’re not. Those aren’t the same thing. You’re just... Oh. It’s not time for that.”
Delirium sends Hob to Hell. Dream doesn't cope well. Lucifer wonders how many times they need to quit their job before it sticks.

wonderful in every sense of the word. planning on reading the second half after season 2, because of major comic spoilers, but what i've read so far... the command of the english language to craft such wonderful images, the adoration for literature, the thirst for life... yeah. Yeah. So breathtaking it puts some published authors to shame. I think I could read this author's prose forever. Possibly the person to understand love most, alongside Wong Kar-wai.

Hob looks up and he’s there, and the relief is blinding. He thinks tu m’as manqué, fuck, because you were missing from me feels more true than I missed you ever has. English missing was ruined for him the moment he learned the French way of it. Longing is meant to be a reflexive verb.
It would be a bad faith translation, even for him. He tells himself this is why he doesn’t say it.
He thinks at last, and that’s a doable one. So he smiles, says, “You’re late.”

Such gossip would have been of very little concern to him, had the timing of said baby's conception not coincided with their, ahem, short yet intense acquaintance. The child is probably not his, but. He'll track it down. Just. Just to make sure.

In other words, Dante's still going for that 'Father of the Year' prize mug, Nero's life keeps speeding down the rabbit hole, Lady might finally be in for a date, that won't involve ruining her clothes with various amounts of demonic body fluids, Trish is the only person with a vague idea of what's going on, while Credo and Kyrie have absolutely no idea what they got themselves into, and Patty's just sitting in the corner, trying to get a role in a school play and some decent grades in maths.
Part two to 'Nesting Birds', but can be read as a stand-alone.
