Sometimes it doesn’t take much to completely throw Charlie off his game.
Which is really annoying, if you ask him.
He spent a majority of his teens in the middle of a constant spiral of self-hatred and anxiety and rules he couldn’t break. It took years of therapy to help him manage that; not to stop it from happening, but to manage when it does and not completely and utterly fall apart.
So when he does completely and utterly fall apart, it just makes him angry. It just feels like all those years of therapy, all the help and support, all the love everyone, Nick most of all, gives him is just being funneled into someone who can’t keep their shit together.
He’d been doing well for months, years even. Sure, eating out was a mixed bag most of the time, but he was able to handle things. He was lucky nothing particular major was happening, he was happily married to Nick for almost two years, he had a job he actually enjoyed and he was well over the stress of having moved a year ago.
So it was particularly stupid when one single remark made him want to run away and hide until the end of time.

Tommy, after his group was disbanded right before debut, is put with another group, they're planning on calling the boys 'Sleepy Boys Inc'. The three are intimidating, confident, and older than him. Which makes them think they're better than him or something, and the fourteen-year old trainee will not be having that. He'll prove himself to them, he knows he will.
The only question is, can he prove himself before the timer for their debut runs out? With how stubborn these boys are, he isn't too sure.
They'll know that Tommy's more than just an unknowing child. He's a strong, capable, and skilled dancer damnit! And he's good enough to be an idol, he knows he is.

Too many responses to count flashed through Tommy’s mind. This man was going to kill him, there was no denying that. No denying that Tommy had been stupid. That mantra had gotten him through the night, sure, but it wasn’t true, and now he was going to die.
In the forest, he didn't know what was coming to kill him. Now, though, he knew it would be this man, with his soft cloak and softer eyes, Tommy wasn’t so afraid.
Might as well encourage him to make it quick.
“Because I know where you live, you rebel fuck,” he spat. “I know exactly where we are.”

Now, what happened next was not Jaiden’s intention. She has never been a violent person and would have much rather just talked it out. But we can all agree: the guy had it coming.

“M’ tired,” He says to Techno, letting himself fall face first into his bed, the blankets almost swallowing him whole. Techno chuckles softly from above him, his fingers brushing through his feathers gently, straightening them out.
Tommy can’t help the way he leans in closer to his touch, warmth prickling along his feathers wherever Techno touches. He doesn’t see the way Technos eyes swirl with a dark satisfaction, the way possessiveness curls his lips up as he preens his feathers, listening to Tommy’s soft coos.
“Yeah?” Techno asks, and Tommy nods his head, one of his eyes opening to stare at Techno.
Or vigilante Tommy owes the Syndicate a life debt, yet he somehow manages to worm his way into their hearts and become part of their family.

On the same day, Quackity went back. It was the first time he had actually gone into the girls’ bathroom by choice, so it felt a little weird. Just as he thought, however, Jaiden was there.

A faint bolt of lightning raced overhead, a thunderous boom echoing only moments later.
The fledgling on the floor shook, clearly still awake at the crack of the storm. They shivered almost violently, shirt sticking to their arms with the rain, a pathetic whine escaping past their lips.
Techno’s pupils grew at the sound, instincts almost surfacing at the blatant plea for help. It took all of his self-control to not scoop them off of the concrete floor and shower them in affection, letting them drink their fill of his blood.
But that was Wilbur and Phil’s job, not his own. All he needed to do was bring the small creature to his coven and they would do the rest.
Not that he wanted anything else.

“Get off of my doorstep.” Jaiden glared at the worker. They only nodded, pushing the sword out of their face before turning on their heel and walking away. Jaiden dropped her weapon, staring the worker down as they left. When they were a good enough distance, she turned around and entered the house.
“Don’t forget, Miss Jaiden. 24 hours, and I collect the paperwork.”

That all being said, it isn't too surprising when the Ringmaster approaches him one night about a different kind of work.

“If it’s connected to Dream, we need to know,” Techno said, sitting back down at Sam’s desk, ready to wait until he got his way.
After a few seconds of silent staredown, the Warden sighed and bent down to switch the live cams.
“Meet ‘T’, the unwilling cause of my most recent headache.”
Wilbur didn’t think he had any surprise left in him. This one gave him a run for his money.
“Sam,” he said slowly, “why in the world is there a child in the high security cells?”All Tommy’s ever known are the walls of this cell and the slow bubbling of the lava. Not that that's a very long time; Tommy doesn’t remember his age (or much of anything, these days) but he knows he’s young.
From the other side of the wall, Dream tells him tales of arrogant heroes and misunderstood villains, which grow bitter as the time pass. And, though Tommy doesn’t want to be selfish, sometimes, he thinks he has it worse.
