Mike’s mouth feels like a desert. Holy fuck.
Mike swallows thickly (Will watches) and looks at him with wide eyes. Will’s attention lies on the lipstick tube that he’s now rolling up, he glances up once. Mike manages to get one word out “...really?” Will smiles and shakes his head.
“Oh yeah– I would totally let a pretty one bite me.”

Summary
They were finally free. The sky had returned to its natural blue, the ground closed up, and the fog of black smoke no longer hung over Hawkins. Mike had to keep reminding himself of that fact. Everything was perfect.
Maybe too perfect.
OR
Post season 5 fix-it, where everyone was Vecna'ed and the world did "end," and now they have to figure out how to get back home. But the way to get home might suck more than if they were to stay in the messed up, distorted version of Hawkins. At least for Mike.

Will smiled, pleased at that. “I do know,” he said loftily, and Mike got the sense he really did, and frequently used it against him to get his way. “But I like it when you tell me.”
Mike wakes ten years in the future, a successful novelist and in a committed relationship with Will.

Will huffed, cheeks burning. Will’s eyes darted involuntarily to the centre of the room. Max and El were squished together on an armchair. Mike was sprawled on the carpet with Dustin and Lucas, waving his arms around dramatically as he argued about which Star Wars film was objectively the best. His hair was a mess. His cheeks were flushed. He was smiling.
And Will felt that stupid expanding warmth in his chest that he couldn’t get rid of no matter how hard he tried.

“Mike, you’re so… You’re really gonna make me say it out loud?” Will was practically begging inside his mind for Mike to just understand. For Mike to just put it together himself and know what Will was trying to say.
“If I’m wrong, I’ll never forgive myself,” Mike confessed. Will was so confused, but he was growing increasingly impatient with the weight of Mike’s hands still delicately on him.
“Do you need me to spell it out for you? I’m in love with you,” Will was on the cusp of shattering and was, to put it simply, really over dancing around the topic. If Mike was going to have his fingertips in the divots of his throat, lying right on his arteries, Will couldn’t take being in the dark anymore about this.
