There, along the side of the ship, a long dorsal fin lifted, almost taunting in its nature as it swam beside the ship. The tail rose, purple in colour as it danced around. Ragatha wanted to get closer, to see this mesmerizing creature, to discover, but a hand pulled her back.
“Ragatha?! Are you okay?” Pomni had asked, hands placed firmly on her shoulders.
However, Ragatha never took her gaze off the sea. Instead, she shook Pomni off, lowering her head to see. But there was nothing there. Just an endless vastness, calling for her to explore. In her haste, her locket fell, below into depths she could not cross. She allowed Pomni to pull her back this time, purple swirling in her mind.

Jax looks at her blankly, expression disturbingly unreadable.
“… Okay.”
“..Okay..?” Ragatha repeats in question.
“Okay,” Jax sighs again, allowing his knees to fall away from his chest. “You can.. help me. Do whatever you want.”

“There, now everyone can see you. A pretty little rag doll!” He tapped her button firmly, before taking hold of the reins, kicking his mare off into a storm.
Ragatha released the breath she was holding, burying her face into her steed’s mane to fight off her racing heart.

There it was. Her persona breaking down around her. Ragatha loved to present herself as a perfect princess, so helpful and kind to everyone. She could never do any wrong!
But Jax? He could break her apart. Light up that fire he knew was just begging to be released. All she needed was a little push. Jax took pride in being the only one to bring it out of Ragatha.

Ragatha was certain they would lose. Jax was cunning, she meant that. Kinger did have his moments of clarity, though as much as she loved him he remained unhelpful. Their opponents had been building a strong comradery these past few weeks. While Ragatha had been pushed away Pomni had been pulled in.
It didn’t bother her really, (it did, it stung. But she couldn’t feel it anyway. She never could.)
As she drifted away, Jax began to torment her relentlessly. Whatever he placed on her pillow this morning just furthered that. He would do things like this. Leaning on her head, touching anything he could reach, shoving her this way and that. His nicknames that made her squirm. Ragatha didn’t trust it, knew she needed to keep her guard up until he revealed his true intentions.
“I know you wanna win.” Jax whispered.
He was right, Ragatha did want to win.
